Benefits To Working Out In The Morning

Do you work out in the morning?  Well I have some great news for you!  People who work out in the morning actually gain more benefits than people who work out at other times of the day.  That doesn’t mean that if you can’t exercise in the morning you shouldn’t exercise, but if you can then I would recommend it.  It is tough for some people to set their alarm and get up a little earlier (I know how it feels, I was there once), but once you get in the habit of waking up earlier it becomes as easier.  Here is a list of benefits that us morning exercisers receive:

 

We Stick With It – By working out in the morning you are more likely to stick with your work-outs for a while.  All you have to do is set your alarm clock before you go to bed, wake up, and go exercise.  Where as, if you are working out later in the day, life sometimes gets in the way.  You may have a bad day at work or have to stay late, and then come home and not have any energy to work out.  Maybe your child will get hurt and you have to take him/her to the doctor.  Now I am not saying that those are bad reasons to miss a work out, but working out in the morning will avoid those conflicts.

 

We Have More Energy To  Work Out – If you were given a choice to work out after a good night’s sleep or hard day at work, which would you choose?  It should be very obvious!  You will find that you will have more energy to work out after a good night’s sleep.  If you have more energy, you can push yourself harder, thus resulting in better and faster results.  

 

We Have More Energy After Working Out – When you work out in the morning you wake your body up!  Although you may have to drag yourself out of bed, once you are done with your workout, you will feel great!  It is like having a cup of coffee or an icy cold shower.  Working out in the morning really wakes you up.  You will have more energy at work or trying to keep up with the kids.  If you are at work and you always seem to get sleepy and your productivity drops, exercising in the morning could help.

 

We Jump Start Our Metabolism – Working out in the morning gives a nice jolt to your metabolism.   When you are done working out, your body continues to burn more calories … ALL DAY!  Your body will be burning more calories throughout the day by working out in the morning.  Your metabolism will be in fat-burning mode from the moment you are done working out.

 

We Eat Better – When you wake up early to exercise, and put forth an hour or so of your hard work, you will have a different mental approach to eating throughout the day.  It is much easier eat healthier if you spend the first hour of your day working out.  The fact that you got yourself up out of bed to exercise in the morning may keep you from making unhealthy food choices.

 

We Are In A Better Mood All Day – After you finish a hard work-out you will feel good about yourself.  If you work out in the morning, that feeling will stay with you throughout the day.  You may become a much more positive person if you work out in the morning.

 

As you can tell, there are many positive benefits of working out in the morning.  I recommend trying a morning workout, if you can fit it into your schedule.
