LesMills Pump Review | The Rep Effect

LesMills Pump Review

LesMills Pump Review

Beachbody has been enjoying a reputation for releasing workout systems that have been proven to be highly effective in helping people lose weight and get sculpted bodies. As such, it comes as no surprise that the fitness world became excited when they found out about the release of LesMills Pump, the latest workout system released by the brand. What exactly is this system and how effective is it? This article is a LesMills Pump review to give you more information about this product.

LesMills Pump Review and the Story Behind How it came to be.

In order to understand what LesMills Pump is all about, it’s important to know how this product came about. As what you can read in a typical LesMills Pump review, this is actually named after Les Mills, a renowned New Zealand athlete. His son, Philip Mills, developed Bodypump, which the workout would be based on. The program was created in order to make aerobics classes more appealing to men, who lean more toward weightlifting than doing aerobic exercises. BodyPump grew to be a hit, as it not only helped people lose weight quickly, but also aided them in building strength without becoming bulky. Today, the program is taught in fitness centers all over the world.

What is LesMills Pump?

As what you can read in this LesMills Pump review, this workout system is essentially the DVD version of Bodypump classes, allowing those who don’t go to the gym to actually take advantage of this workout program.

How does LesMills Pump work?

LesMills Pump has a concept behind it called the “rep effect“, which describes how doing a lot of reps using a relatively light barbell in different speeds, positions, and tempos can burn a lot of calories within a short span of time. According to the system, you can lose as much as 1,000 calories for each training session thanks to the rep effect.

A typical LesMills Pump session will see you doing between 70 and 100 reps for each body part. Since each session is designed to work out different body parts, you can do as many as 800 reps for each workout.

LesMills Pump Review and the Breakdown of the Workouts

This section of the LesMills Pump review will dissect this workout system. Like other exercise programs, LesMills Pump is divided into different phases, each section of which is designed to help you achieve different fitness goals.

The three phases of the LesMills Pump system are:
Te Wero. Otherwise known as The Challenge phase, the initial portion of the LesMills system is designed to help you get rid of excess fat in the system. The exercises done during this phase are structured in order to boost metabolism.
Panoni. Known as The Change phase, this portion is designed in order to sculpt your body by building your muscles.
Kia Kaha. Otherwise known as the Be Strong phase, this takes off where Panoni left off by making your body leaner and more chiseled.
Of course, weight loss and body sculpting isn’t just about working out, which is why LesMills Pump also comes with a nutrition plan that you can follow as you go through the workout routines suggested by the program.

The nutrition plan is especially designed in order for you to boost your metabolism and reduce fat, as well as to increase endurance. As what you can read in a BeachBody LesMills Pump review, the nutrition plan suggested by this program is unlike other workout systems and diet programs. Instead of dictating what you can and can’t eat, you are given the option to mix and match from 50 food recipes so that you can choose what to eat and what to avoid.

What is included in the LesMills Pump package?

The system itself is made of different DVDs that essentially break down the three phases mentioned earlier into a 90-day training system.

  • Pump Challenge. Pump Challenge is 20 minutes of resistance training exercises, including kickbacks, biceps curls, squats, and bench presses.
  • Pump and Burn. These are exercises designed to build up your strength and endurance even as these burn fat. Pump and Burn runs for 30 minutes.
  • Pump and Shred. Pump and Shred runs for 45 minutes, and it is primarily composed of lunges and shoulder training exercises.
  • Pump Revolution. This portion of the workout focuses on strength, endurance, and toning training. This runs for 55 minutes.
  • Pump Extreme. The exercises in this DVD, which include isolated plate work and matrix work, are designed to work out muscle pressure. Like Pump Revolution, Pump Extreme runs for 55 minutes.
  • Flow. Flow is essentially yoga integrated into the LesMills Pump system in order to develop flexibility and improve posture. Flow runs for 20 minutes.
  • Hard Core Abs. As the name suggests, this DVD builds up core strength in order for you to get the well-defined abs that you’ve always wanted. Hard Core Abs runs for 20 minutes.

The package also includes the equipment you will be needing in the workouts, which include a barbell, weight plates, and safety clips. It also comes with the Get Lean Nutrition Guide, as well as a tape measure and measurement tracker so you can see just how far along your progress is.

How effective is LesMills Pump

A lot of people who have done LesMills Pump are singing praises about this workout program, not only because it helped them lose weight quickly and effectively, but also because it helped them get the sculpted body they’ve always wanted. What’s great about the program is that just about anyone regardless of age, gender, shape, or fitness level can actually use it, so you don’t have to worry about whether or not this is the right training program for you, as long as you want to get a lean and chiseled body.
Of course, this program isn’t for everyone. Those who want to bulk up may want to look elsewhere for a home training program, since this workout system isn’t about developing large muscles, but is instead designed to help people get a lean and well-defined body.
As what you can read in this LesMills Pump review, this is a highly effective program that you can follow in order to help you lose weight in as short as 90 days. If you want to get a sexy, sculpted body, as well as build up your strength, endurance, and flexibility, then this is the program for you.

Top 5 Reasons You Need Shakeology

Shakeology Meal Replacement ShakeExhausted from my workout, I needed something to get me through the rest of the day. Something that would not only replenish the zapped energy, but provide a nutritious meal without a lot of effort and time on my part.

Does this sound familiar?

When you are training hard and your workout regime requires significant time and energy on your part, preparing healthy meals may not be something you have time to do.

If you are burning thousands of calories throughout the day, you may find yourself always hungry. When your time is limited, it is tempting to reach for the quickest snack or meal to fill your growling stomach.

Even if you enjoy cooking, what about the “in-between” meals? Finding healthy snacks that also provide energy, muscle building components, and suppress hungry can be difficult.

Whatever your circumstances, here is why I think Shakeology is the perfect addition to your workouts.

My Top 5 Reasons You Need Shakeology

1. Packed full of nutrition.

Drinking a Shakeology shake is like sitting down and eating your day’s worth of fruits and vegetables, mixed in with digestive enzymes, amino acids, prebotics, and essential vitamins and minerals. One shake contains over 70 natural ingredients.

If you had to consume all of that in food form every month, not only would you spend hundreds of dollars, but you would rack up a high amount of calories.

2. Convenient.

Let’s face it, a shake is much easier to prepare than a three course meal with the same amount of nutrients and muscle building ingredients.

If you add some yogurt or fruit to your shake, you have yourself a meal replacement for those people on the go, for a fraction of the cost. Plus, you can buy it online and have it delivered right to your doorstep!

3. Inexpensive meal.

At first glance, you may think the Shakeology meal replacement drink is expensive. Since you are paying in one lump sum, this may appear costly.

However, as I already mentioned to get the nutrition-packed meal that Shakeology provides, you would be spending more than $4 a serving! Plus, if you sign up for Home Direct, you get free shipping and hassle-free delivery each month. Become a Beachbody Coach and save 25% with Free Shipping!

4. Health benefits.

Besides all of the weight loss and muscle gain benefits, you will also get other perks by using Shakeology.

Shakeology contains antioxidants and also aids in digestive, helps lower cholesterol, increases energy, curbs your appetite, and even eliminates toxins from your body. What other drink or snack can provide all of that?

5. Complements Intense Workouts. Whether you are using the P90X programs, or the Insanity workouts, you know you need a balanced meal and healthy snacks to keep you going.

Even if you are not using Beachbody, but are instead a runner, a cyclist, or are participating actively in sports conditioning programs, Shakeology works well with any intense workout program.

My Shakeology Guarantee to You

I don’t have to convince you, try it out for one month. If you don’t notice the benefits of Shakeology just return it, even if the bag is empty. If you are not 100% satisfied, return it within 30 days for a full refund of the purchase price. That’s my promise to you. Click Here to learn more about Shakeology.

P90X2 Workout Schedule and P90X2 Worksheets | Download

P90X2 Workout Schedule and WorksheetsTony Horton’s program P90X took the fitness world by storm by introducing the concept of muscle confusion, an innovative way of working out that allows people to avoid hitting a plateau when they exercise, allowing them to make the most out of each training session. P90X2 picks up right where P90X left off, introducing new routines that ensure that you work out your muscles in such a way that you will be able to get the results you want effectively. This article takes a look at what you can expect from the P90X2 workout schedule.

As with P90X, the P90X2 workout schedule was designed to introduce a variety of workouts so that you don’t end up getting bored with the program and dropping it like a hot potato because of the monotony of the routines. Aside from building your strength, the program can also develop your balance, agility, and athleticism, giving you a total full-body workout in each session.

The P90X2 workout is broken down into three different phases:

P90X2 Workout Schedule Phase 1

Also called the Foundation Phase, the initial portion of the P90X2 workout schedule focuses on building your core strength and your balance, both of which will serve as a solid foundation that you can build up on the subsequent phases of the training program (hence the name). The exercises done during this phase are characterized by explosive movements and instability in order for you to have a better workout. Phase 1 runs for 3-6 weeks.

P90X2 Phase 1 Schedule

P90X2 Workout Schedule Phase 2

This is the strength phase in the P90X2 workout schedule. At the heart of this phase is the Plyocide workout, which essentially builds up on the Plyometrics workout in P90X. This phase will work out your chest and back, as well as improve your balance (the improvement of which already began in Phase 1). Phase 2 is when muscle confusion comes in. The routines during this phase are highly intensive and exhaustive, allowing you to exercise muscles that you didn’t even know existed. Exercise equipment such as medicine balls and balance balls play a crucial role in Phase 2. Phase 2 runs for 3-6 weeks.

P90X2 Phase 2 Schedule

P90X2 Workout Schedule Phase 3

This is the Performance Phase of the program. If Plyocide is the heart of Phase 2, the center of Phase 3 is the PAP workout. PAP stands for Post Activation Potentiation, a revolutionary training technique that is utilized by the best athletes in the world in order for them to achieve tip-top shape. PAP is designed to greatly boost your power and strength, thus helping you get the ripped body you have always wanted. Due to nature of the exercises in this phase, it is not recommended that you keep performing these workouts for a long period of time, which is why Phase 3 is only recommended to run for 3-4 weeks.

P90X2 Phase 3 Schedule

P90X2 Workout Schedule Recovery phase

An optional phase in the P90X2 program is the Recovery Week. Unlike in P90X wherein the Recovery week has been designated at a specific period during your workout, it is now up to the person in training when he or she will do the Recovery week. This allows him or her to determine when this will be, so he or she can schedule it at a time that will suit their schedule as well as their body needs. The name of this phase is a misnomer, since you don’t need to spend 7 days in Recovery. This phase can be as short as 3 days or as long as 12 days, depending on what your needs are.

P90X2 Recovery Schedule

The P90X2 workout schedule is filled to the seams with workouts that are designed to help you achieve your ultimate fitness goals. Because it is highly intensive, this workout program may not be for those who are only starting out, as well as for the faint of heart. You really will be able to feel your body getting a workout with this fitness program. Of course, the pain and the exhaustion will be worth it, since P90X2 has been proven to help people get ripped.

Can I Use Shakeology as a Post Workout Supplement

shakeology as a post workout supplementWhether your workout is taking the stairs hard to the top of your apartment building after a lengthy jog or lifting weights, that feeling you get after a good workout can be so satisfying. You’ve worked very hard in your workout and now you can rest.

But is that true? A little time to relax may seem very tempting, but that may not be the best thing for you to do. Your body’s receptiveness to nutrients increases dramatically after a hard workout, so good nutrition in the short term afterwards is very important. Don’t start slacking now! Be sure to down your Shakeology shake within ten minutes of the end of your workout, and wait another 30 to 45 minutes for it to metabolize before you eat anything else.

When Nietzsche argued, “That which doesn’t kill us makes us stronger,” he could easily have been talking about a workout. In the first place, exercise quickly consumes your blood sugar along with glycogen, which is your body’s reserve of sugar. At the same time, it consumes the electrolytes and fluids in your body and causes microscopic damage to your muscle tissue. The last one is more prevalent in weight training, but pretty much any kind of intense exercise injures and then builds muscle in one degree or another. If you need evidence of this, all you need to do is observe a swimmer’s shoulders or a jogger’s legs.

“That which doesn’t kill us makes us stronger”

When you are serious about working out, a key reason that Shakeology is recommended by top trainers like RevAbs’ Brett Hoebel or P90X’s Tony Horton is because your body is depleted and people often end up consuming too many calories following their workout. The amount of calories you need for replenishing after a workout depends on how hard you worked out and your body size, but in general it should be between 100 and 250 calories per workout. Shakeology fits this need perfectly with 140 to 150 calories and each serving. And if you need some added calories, tossing in some nut butter or a banana will do the trick nicely.

Following an exercise session, protein is essential since it helps repair and restore muscles. This is because protein is made out of amino acids, which are the very basic components of muscle. You can get your body to kick in the recovery process quickly by consuming some quality protein right away. Shakeology, with 16 to 18 grams of good protein per serving, is very effective in building up muscles and is easily absorbed into the body, especially after vigorous exercise because, the body is then hungry for nutrients.

The next step is upping your blood sugar. You will have to consume carbs to make this happen. Each serving of Shakeology is packed with 17 grams of carbs, so when you reach for that shake right after your workout, your body will be healthily replenished and you will feel satisfied so that you won’t feel overly hungry at your next meal, which generally leads to unhealthy choices.

The last two ingredients involved in recovery are water and electrolytes (specifically potassium, sodium, magnesium, and chloride), which your body loses as you sweat. Your electrolytes will go up with Shakeology’s enzymes, magnesium, minerals, sodium and vitamins, and you can go even higher by using coconut water to create your shake. As far as re-hydrating goes, it’s as simple as drinking plenty of water.

How Team Beachbody and P90X Changed Pete Haack’s Life

I have an amazing team of Beachbody coach’s who are all remarkable people. Every once in awhile I like to feature one of my member’s incredible results, whether in business, workout results or both. This is a guest post from Team Beachbody Coach, Pete Haack. Pete has an incredible story and wait until you see his workout results. He is now paying it forward as a Beachbody Coach to help others achieve amazing results.

Check out his story:

Pete Haack Before And After

Before and After Photos P90X and Asylum

I’m often asked to share my experience of starting up the Beachbody programs and eventually becoming a Team Beachbody Coach. It’s definitely been a journey that has changed my life. Now I hope that through the opportunity I have been given to become a Coach that I can pay it forward to help others to do the same.

I was involved in Track & Field in high school and college. During my senior year of college, I was involved in a car accident on my way to class one day. Another driver ran a stop sign and hit my car directly on the driver’s side at a high rate of speed. The impact left me in the hospital for a week with a fractured spleen and unable to finish my last outdoor season. At the time of my accident I weighed 155 lbs. Over the next few years I consistently put on more and more weight until I decided I needed to do something about it. I had gone up over 200 lbs. and was looking at upgrading my wardrobe yet again to accommodate another new pant size.

I started participating in open Track & Field meets as a way to motivate myself to stay in shape. In my first meet I ran the 200 meters and fell down about 30 yards from the finish line. Not a good start, but I didn’t give up and continued to run one meet a year for the next few years. One day while practicing on the track I felt a pop in my hamstring. It ended up being a pretty moderate hamstring strain and took a little over a month to come back from. One thing about hamstring injuries is that they are difficult to shake. I continued to have the same injury year-after-year until I saw some research on hamstring injuries and the impact of improving balance and core strength to reduce the likelihood of injury. I viewed a presentation that showed the rehabilitation and off-season exercises that major universities were using for their football and track athletes to prevent these injuries. One night, while watching the P90X infomercial, I realized that P90X incorporated many of these same moves into its program. I ordered the program in February of 2010 and haven’t looked back.

This past track season I decided to use Insanity: The Asylum during the season to stay in shape and reduce the amount of time I would spend training on the track. My conditioning had improved so much after using the program that I decided to go to Cleveland, Ohio to run in the USA Track & Field National Masters Championships. I felt like I was in great shape and if I continued the Asylum program I would only get better. Due to a condition in my calves that limits my ability to train regularly on the track, I took an unusual approach and used Asylum as my primary training program and only incorporated one or two workouts on the track each week. It proved to be successful as I achieved my goal of winning a medal by placing third in the 400 meter dash at the National Championships in my age group.

It was at this point that I found myself promoting the Beachbody products to everyone I knew and had even convinced a few people to purchase P90X. When people who were on the program had questions, they asked me. I was already doing many of the same things I do now, but without actually being a Beachbody Coach. I remembered a blog post I had read months earlier where Tony Horton wrote about the coaching opportunity, and I figured I should look into it more closely. It didn’t hurt that I could get a discount on Beachbody programs and supplements.

The truth is that I know what I have gained from the Beachbody programs and support system on Team Beachbody. I wish that there was a way to take this feeling that I have of being fit, happy, and healthy and bottle it up and hand it out to everyone. Being a Beachbody Coach and sharing my story is the next closest thing I can think of. There is such a great feeling from being a part of a company that is working to put an end to obesity and bring wellness to others. One of the greatest joys in life is being used for a purpose and I feel like this is mine.
