Insanity Workout Pure Cardio (Day 13 of 60)

To quote Shaun T “This shit is bananas” and I have to agree 100%.  Today I was able to raise my heart rate and calorie burn.  I’m sure I have said this before but I’m going to say it again. Pure Cardio must be the hardest cardio workout there is, it is completly Insane. I was excited to see my calories burned were 752, especially when my highest calorie burn was 695 in this Insanity workout. Tomorrow is day 14 and it’s Fit Test time again. Hopefully I can raise some of my fit test stats, but we’ll see. On day 15 I will be posting a progress report.

Insanity Workout Cardio Power & Resistance (Day 12 of 60)

I had a hard time in todays Insanity workout. For some reason I could’nt seem to ever catch my breath. Maybe it was the extra jumping incorporated in this workout. I’m not sure, but nonetheless I pushed through and still had a pretty good calorie burn. Guess what…those pesky 8 squats/pushups got me again. I push as hard as I can thinking I’m done then boom…8 squats/pushups time, it may take a miracle for me to remember these are coming in this workout. Ordinarily tomorrows workout has two workouts, instead of doing two tomorrow I’m going to add the extra workout to later today.

Cardio Abs Stats:

Max Heart Rate – 154
Average Heart Rate –123
Calories Burned – 218

Cardio Power & Resistance Stats:

Insanity Workout Cardio Recovery (Day 11 of 60)

Insanity Workout Recovery day is here, and it was needed. I still can’t believe how difficult the holds are during this workout. You start with slow squats at a 16 reps. Then while down in your 16th rep Shaun has you hold the squat for more than a minute. I can not hold very long, I have to repeatedly go in and out of these…insane. Ok, so after you minute hold then Shaun wants 16 pulses (mini squats) from the squat position, are you kidding me! My legs were jello and shaking, but I held on as long as I could. Guess what your not done there, next we go to lunges and do the same routine in the lunge on both sides. Other than the squats and lunge holds most of the rest of the “recovery day” is fairly doable for me. Just standing still and doing yoga moves as well as the lunges and squats my heart rate still peaked at 157. This routine is only 33 minutes long so it’s over before you know it. Tomorrow there are two seperate workouts listed one of which is Cardio Abs. I have not even previewed it so I have no idea what I’m in for.

Cardio Recovery Stats:

Max Heart Rate – 157
Average Heart Rate –119
Calories Burned – 396

Total Insanity Calories Burned – 6660

Insanity Workout Plyo Cardio Circuit (Day 10 of 60)

As of today I’m one sixth of the way through my 60 day Insanity Workout. If you are planning on doing the Insanity workout I would suggest a yoga mat. The reason being, during the level one drills (plank position) my arms and hands are sweating so bad that I can hardly keep my hands from sliding out from under me. I have tile floor and will be using a yoga mat to some extent to keep my hands stationary. Today was my third run through of the plyo circuit circuit. The max interval circuit idea is insane, this workout kicks my butt and it has 30 second breaks every 3 minutes compared to pure cardio which has no breaks. Still todays workout seems much harder to me. Maybe my mind was’nt in it today, but I tried to push through every interval hard as possible. I burned 800 calories in 42 minutes. Tomorrow is the much needed recovery day … whew!

I just wanted to add that a member of my Insanity Workout Group won $300 in the WOWY Gym. Be sure and get your FREE Team Beachbody Account and enter your workouts to win cash and prizes.

Pure Cardio Stats:

Insanity Workout Pure Cardio (Day 9 of 60)

I pushed myself in today’s Insanity Workout about as hard as my body would let me. Still I had to slow down a few times as well as stop for a break. Stopping for a break doesnt bother me, most of the cast including Shaun T took them also. This Pure Cardio workout is one of the hardest workouts I’ve done, and my list includes P90X Plyometrics and P90X+ Interval X. Basically you do the usual 10 minute hard core warmup followed by a 8 minute stretch, then the Insanity begins. You go into 20 moves, at minute each, and NO BREAK! I felt good through out this one and I was able to raise my average heart rate up to 154 bpm compared to 146 my first time doing pure cardio. Even though this was my second time doing pure cardio, when Shaun says “I’m nervous about this one…” still got to me. I forgot to set my heart rate monitor so I missed the first 4 minutes of workout. However missing the first 4 minutes with the hrm I still burned 675 calories and my heart rate peaked at 176! After 9 days of Insanity I’m relly starting to feel better everyday. I noticed towards the end of this week Ithere are two workouts listed in a day…what’s that all about! Until tomorrow, take care.

Pure Cardio Stats:

Max Heart Rate – 176
Average Heart Rate –154
Calories Burned – 675

Total Insanity Calories Burned – 5464

Insanity Workout Cardio Power & Resistance (Day 8 of 60)

My first day in my second week of the Insanity workout and I’m feeling it. I’m typing this with the sweat dripping off me. This was my second time doing the cardio power & resistance workout and it’s still new to me. The 8 squats/pushups caught me off guard again, but I did what I could. I’ll be ready next time Shuan! I felt I pushed pretty hard through the entire workout. Man I tell you what though, those globe jumps super tough! I can tell my heart is starting to adapt better to these workouts. Meaning I’m able to push myself a lot harder and my heart rate is able to stay in the zone, where before I was peaking out. I was pleased that I increased my avg. and peak heart rate as well as calories burned compared to my last run through. Tomorrow’s workout is Pure Cardio, Get Fit or Get Out!

Cardio Power & Resistance Stats:

Max Heart Rate – 172
Average Heart Rate –148
Calories Burned – 753

Insanity Workout Plyo Cardio Circuit (Day 7 of 60)

I have finished week one of my Insanity workout routine. I’m pretty stoked about it. Technically day 7 is a rest day, however, due to a softball tournament I had to push my workout to my rest day, and take my rest day yesterday.(got that…lol) Todays workout plyo cicuit cardio is my second run through, I was determined to push harder this time. Beginning at the warmup I pushed through pretty hard, but I still kept a close eye on my heart rate. Everytime I felt I wanted to take a break I had Shaun T there pushing me to keep going. During the level one drills (plank position) I had a hard time with my hands sliding on my tile floor because of the sweat on the floor. Nonetheless I survived! For me this workout flew by, you know your getting a good workout and enjoying it when it’s over and you find yourself wanting more. Tomorrow starts my second week which has a few new workouts and a knew layout. Bring it on baby!

Plyo Circuit Cardio Stats:

Max Heart Rate – 174
Average Heart Rate – 150
Calories Burned – 794

Total Insanity Calories Burned – 4036
