Day 12 started a bit off kilter to any other day I have had in the P90X3 Challenge. One of my dogs of 12 years passed away last night and I had to bury him this morning. This on top of having the P90X3 CVX workout later in the morning. I wasn’t too sure how I was going to handle the workout after an emotional draw of losing our family pet. I dug deep and pushed play and the workout went much better than I anticipated.
Day 12 P90X3 CVX
CVX stands for Cardio Vascular Xtreme and let me tell you it is exactly that. Doing cardio can seem a little boring at times but adding a weight to it really amps up the intensity and focus somehow. I’m not sure if I stated this last week but I am now, this is my favorite routine in the first block of P90X3. I seem to be able to push a little harder on this routine than the others. I don’t think it’s because this is an easier routine, in fact I might go as far as to say it’s harder than the other first block workouts. CVX gets my heart rate higher than the other routines in this month so I guess it’s the extra weight in our hands that does the trick. I started again today with the 8 pound med ball but after the first half of the first set I had to go down to the 5 lb dumbbell once again. I did however go back to the 8 lb med ball for the burnout round. Only one more workout this week, and only one more week in the series before we see a new set of workouts how exciting is that!
Day 12 P90X3 CVX Nutrition
After burying our family dog we felt we needed to keep some of the normality in our routine for our kids. So tonight we head to our weekly trip to Chick-Fil-A. It’s so hard to eat there and not get a soda and fries. I have to remain strong and keep pressing forward! Like Tony says “Do your best and forget the rest”.
Breakfast – scambled egg whites, whole grain toast topped with strawberry preserves (8 oz green tea)
Post Workout – Chocolate Shakeology, add whey protein and PB2
Lunch – turkey sandwich on whole grain bread, 1 whole cucumber, side of fruit
Snack – Pure Protein Bar
Dinner – Chick fil a sandwich and a fruit cup
Snack – Shakeology with PB2
