Day 18
comes with welcomed arms. I have been looking forward to this workout for a day or so. Mostly because I wanted to take a break from the usual Insanity cardio. I know most of my Insanity challengers
were happy for this day. There’s something about a third week in a fitness routine where a lot people tend to quit. Maybe because they set unrealistic goals, maybe they weren’t as committed as they thought. The good news is that most people that get through the dreaded week 3 blues
will go on and finish what they started.
Day 18 Cardio Recovery
What is lisinopril used for came at a good time for me this week. I was just looking for that little break in the Insanity sequence. I feel as though I’m getting a little stronger with this workout. The plank work still gives my shoulders fits. And today I was much improved on the balance portion of the workout. Also I’m able to make all the holds for the entire duration that Shaun T sets us on. Don’t get me wrong my legs are screaming at my in the squats and lunges portions. Being only day 18 I’m a little surprise to see how much fitter I am becoming in terms of my heart rate. Just for a quick comparison in the first 3 weeks on Cardio Recovery my heart rate hardly gets high, but compared to the last few times you can see a trend:
Week 1: Avg. HR – 109 Max HR – 136
Week 2: Avg. HR – 107 Max HR – 131
Week 3: Avg HR – 100 Max HR – 125
So above you can actually see how it takes more to get my heart rate up now. This especially makes the other workout days harder now. I now have to push even harder than before just to get my heart rate where it was when I started Insanity. That’s why Insanity should never get an easier, because you have to push harder!
Day 18 Cardio Recovery Nutrition
My nutrition for day 18 was fairly basic. I only used one of the Elite Nutrition recipes today. For breakfast I had the Proatmeal with a banana. It was almost to much food for me. I guess I’m used to a smaller breakfast because I felt bloated afterwards. I continued to keep my lunch and first snack swamped putting my Shakeology in the afternoon. We had some out of town family stop by for the weekend so I went to dinner with them. We went to my parents house for a home cooked meal of turkey with corn in the cob and I added some fresh cucumber and tomato. The also had the usual fixings like mashed potatoes and dessert pie. Of course I stayed away from those items. I was under on my calories and finished Day 18 at 1911 calories with my macro-nutrients at 44-37-19. I was a little higher on carbs today than I’d like, but most of the carbs came it the morning so I’m not to worried about it. I’ll make sure to meet my percentages better tomorrow. Stay tuned.
