I’m not quite sure why or if I even agree that Day 19 should be Cardio Power & Resistance. Yesterday was the Cardio Recovery day which is a deep muscle leg workout in itself. Then for today to go at Cardio Power & Resistance just kills my legs the whole way through the workout. The word “Power” in Cardio Power refers to jumping (from the bottom) and squatting. This proved to be a tough back to back sequence for me but I got it done.
Day 19 Cardio Power & Resistance
As I said above my legs were already kind of timid going in this workout. And right out of the gates in the warm up we are doing jumps squats, over the log jumps, and a type of power jumps. And the first move in the first circuit is my personal favorite Power Jumps (sorry for the sarcasm). So needless to say my legs were on fire through most of the entire workout today. But you know what, I still pushed through and worked through the pain. “The work doesn’t begin until you’re tired”. After the last circuit Shaun T has a little surprise where we do 8 Squats/Push-ups and I usually skip the first set. Today I started with the cast and went all the way through the entire set. This was an accomplishment for myself especially with how sore I was to begin with. It did take me a few minutes to get off the floor after going so hard but I was eventually able to get up off the floor.
Day 19 Cardio Power & Resistance Nutrition
Today’s nutrition consisted of one of my favorite Insanity Elite Nutrition guide recipes. Which one was it? It was the Protein Pizza muffins and they are so good. I hadn’t had them this week at all and when I sat down last night to schedule out my nutrition for today I made sure to get them added. I had them for lunch mostly because that when I like to have them. For dinner I had 4 oz of grilled chicken that was left over from the pizza. I added some brown rice and some veggies. I’m working on increasing my vegetable intake to at least 2 servings per day. I was able to meet that today. I was under my calorie goal on day 19 at 1890 calories and my macro’s finished at 43-35-21. Stay Tuned.
