Day 23 is a sad day in the Insanity Challenge. It’s the last time we get to do Cardio Power & Resistance. I’m actually going to miss this workout as I was getting better each time through it. However I know what’s to come is not going to be any easier. Month 2 is right around the corner!
Day 23 Cardio Power & Resistance
As I said this is the last time I have to do this workout. I really do think I’m going to miss it once Month 2 starts but still I’m looking forward to some change in the routine. Today’s warm-up is a shade bit different from the other Insanity workouts so I wasn’t sure if I’d get through all of it without stopping like I have been doing. Once I got to the 3rd round of the warm-up I knew I had to go all the way and I’m glad to say I made it. I still have a hate for those dang Power Jumps but I put out the best numbers to date today. My right knee has started to give me a very slight discomfort, so I was weary of them today. The other move that gets me is the Globe Jumps. Globe Jumps is not a hard move at all but I watch my heart rate shoot up fast when I do them, still I was able to get 4 rounds (16 jumps) per circuit in today. And to finish off Day 23 Cardio Power & Resistance I completed the entire set of 8 squat jumps/push-ups. Woot Woot!
Day 23 Cardio Power & Resistance Nutrition
My nutrition on day 23 was pretty standard. For breakfast I had one of my favorite recipes, the Proatmeal bowl. Lunch I went with 5 oz. of grilled chicken with a side of green beans, tomatoes and almonds. Still working on getting more veggies. After I had scheduled everything out today I noticed I had zero veggies. I had to go back and add them resulting in to make sure I had a least one serving. For one of my snacks I had Shakeology. I have been drinking Shakeology for years now and I wanted to share my favorite recipe to date (below). Dinner was a deli sandwich followed up with a protein shake. I finished day 23 under my calorie goal because I entered the wrong quantity on some of the items I scheduled and didn’t catch it until the next day. I completed the day with 1885 calories which is 65 calories under my target. I think I will try to get those calories back with tomorrow’s nutrition. My macro-nutrients ended at 47-34-19.
