Day 31 begins the down side of the Insanity Challenge. Meaning I’m on my way to the end! I’m excited and a little anxious about getting to the MAX workouts of Month 2. They are more difficult and add another 20 minutes to the routine. I’m confident Shaun T has prepared me for whats to come but I still fear it.
Day 31 Core Cardio & Balance
Well, I made it half way through Core Cardio & Balance recovery week. Only 3 more days to deal with this workout until month 2. I had a much better mindset going into today’s workout and got it done without breaks again but felt a little more tired at the end than I had before. I try not to push too hard this week being recovery but maybe I did today. I tried to focus more on form and core today with a lot of the different moves. Those hip flexor burners still have my number and I just can’t seem to get through them without having to drop. I feel I’m getting closer and hope to one day conquer those dang things. One thing that’s cool is I notice many of the cast taking breaks in this workout and I don’t stop at all. It’s nice to see and feel progress in my fitness level to even compare to those in the cast. I tackle this again tomorrow so stay tuned for that bundle of joy.
Day 31 Core Cardio & Balance Nutrition
My Insanity Day 31 nutrition was another good day for me. I went with egg whites with whole wheat toast for breakfast, I like starting my day off with this meal, can you tell. For lunch I wanted something tasty that I hadn’t had in a little while and I wanted it to be from the Insanity Nutrition Guide. I went with the Chicken Meatballs recipe for today with a side of mixed steamed veggies and man oh man was it good. It’s a little high on the carb side of the scale and this is why I had it for lunch instead of dinner. My dinner consisted of left over grilled chicken (again) and a can of tuna fish with a side of almonds. Went a little heavier on the protein at dinner to help me reach my macros for day 31. I ended the day with 1935 calories and my macro-nutrients at 37-34-19. Stay Tuned.
