Day 34 marks the first time we see MMX in the P90X3 Challenge. I’m really glad this is the last workout for this week. This week has worn me out to say the least. Trying to go for broke each day has paid its toll and I’m sore in just about every muscle in my body. It’s the good kind of sore though so no worries. I’m ready for that rest day tomorrow so I can regroup and hit week 6 even harder than I did week 5.
Day 34 MMX
MMX is a martial arts style workout. If you are familiar with P90X workouts this one is similar to Kenpo X, just a little more intense and complicated. One complaint I heard a lot about kenpo x was that it just wasn’t that intense of a workout, not to mention it didn’t burn many calories. And for a 60 minute workout that’s not going to be very enjoyable is it? MMX is much more intense and some of the moves are a bit complicated but I’m sure I get them down within the next 1 or 2 times I do this routine. How to get a high intensity workout from just punching and kicking? Easy add a ton of sprawls (suicides) to the workouts. I got my heart rate up to 173 in this workout, that’s something that I rarely see in a punch kick routine like this. I finished this 30 minute workout with burning 441 calories.

Breakfast – oatmeal with whey protein and walnuts (8 oz. green tea)
Post Workout – Chocolate Shakeology, add whey protein
Lunch – turkey sandwich, fruit cup
Snack – Pure Protein Bar,
Dinner – 5 chicken wings, plain
Snack – .75 oz almonds
