Day 38 in my Insanity Challenge brings me to the 3rd Max workout of Month 2. Max Cardio Conditioning is very similar to the Pure Cardio Workout of Month 1. It’s a straight forward workout with no scheduled breaks whatsoever. I actually liked this workout because of the variety and no repeat moves. Don’t get me wrong it’s not an easy workout but I’d say it’s the easiest of the Max workouts I’ve done.
Day 38 Max Cardio Conditioning
Day 38 and Max Cardio Conditioning was a pretty good day for me. This workout is still right along side of the other insane workouts of the Insanity Challenge but I do better when I don’t have to repeat moves over and over again. This workout brought that variety to me and I liked it. My muscles have been very sore the last few days and they were still sore at the beginning of this workout. It’s almost like starting Insanity all over again. I’m having trouble pushing myself harder on these Max workouts and I’m not sure if it’s just me trying to save energy to make it through the whole routine or the fact that I’m just really sore.
The warm up today was the same as it has been other than a few changes. I noticed we weren’t doing the 1-2-3 Heisman in the first 2 rounds and the 3rd round was cut way down in terms of time and all the moves were more of those in month 1. Max Cardio Conditioning is very similar to Pure Cardio but instead of the 15 minutes of non-stop cardio we have about 30 minutes. Another thing Shaun T ads is some recovery moves to allow your heart rate to recovery before going all out again. Day 38 didn’t seem as intense as the last two days but maybe that’s just in my head. I’m looking forward to tomorrow’s Max Recovery workout so maybe I can get rid of some soreness.
Day 38 Max Cardio Conditioning Nutrition
Started my nutrition on Day 38 with a nice bowl of Proatmeal from the Insanity Nutrition Guide. For lunch I decided I wanted something tasty, so I whipped up the Chicken Meatballs recipe (see image) from the guide as well. The chicken meatball recipe is one of my top 3 favorites from the nutrition guide. The recipe calls for about 2.5 ounces of chicken but I went with 4.5 ounces to get a little more protein for my lunch. Dinner was not something I was looking forward to by any means as it was mostly just things I threw in there to help me meet my nutrition goals for the day. It consisted of cottage cheese, tuna fish and almonds and NO they were not mixed together by the way. I’m starting to get that voice in my head wanting me to have a cheat meal and I have been fighting that voice now for a few days. I remain strong and I’m determined to finish this round of the Insanity Challenge to the best of MY ability. Going through this with my challengers was the best decision I could have made because I don’t know how well I would be doing without us pushing each other to do our best. Anyways I finished day 38 with 2039 calories and completed my macro-nutrient ratios at 45-35-20. Stay tuned!
