Day 40 is the first day I have a repeat from one of the Max workouts I did earlier in this week with Max Interval Circuit. That’s one of the things I wish was different with this program. I wish there were no repeat workouts within the same week. Nonetheless I can’t do anything about that now so I’ll keep trucking along and working hard to get through this Insanity Challenge.
Day 40 Max Interval Circuit
Max Interval Circuit is the longest of the Month 2 Max workouts in Insanity. I find it, as of now, the hardest of these type of workouts. My goal on day 40 was to try to consciously push myself harder and do each set longer than I did on the first time I did this routine on day 36. I feel like I did much better today but I still didn’t get my heart rate as high as I thought it might go. I’m still really sore and I think that is playing a role in why I can’t seem to break through the barrier. I ended up cutting this workout short when my brother from out of town showed up at my door. I had about 10 minutes left in the routine so it wasn’t that much of a big deal anyway it terms of time. I was also starting to feel fatigued at that point which was half way through the 3rd circuit. I only have one more workout before a day of complete rest which I can’t tell you how much I’m looking forward to.
Day 40 Max Interval Circuit Nutrition
I started my day 40 nutrition off with a bowl of the Proatmeal recipe. If you have been following me you can probably see a pattern now where I have been alternating my breakfast and having Proatmeal every other day. At lunch I went with a deli sandwich with a side of almonds. I just love sandwiches and they are probably my one weakness during this Insanity Challenge. Not saying they are “bad”, but eating processed food is not exactly “healthy”. Being it’s Friday family night, the kids wanted to go to Chick-Fil-A so I had to schedule out my nutrition early to see what I could eat to keep inside of my goals. I had a grilled chicken sandwich (minus the bun) and a small fruit cup. As I said the other day I have been struggling with my nutrition in terms of staying strong and not “wanting” any cheat meals. After sitting at Chick-Fil-A for about an hour I decided to treat myself with a small ice cream. No, it didn’t fit into my nutrition goals but I felt that it might ease the struggle in my mind to have a little treat. I finished day 40 over my calorie goal with 2146 calories and my macro-Nutrients were high on the carb side at 42-39-19.
