Day 42 has wrapped up and ended week 6! This week was rather reminiscent of the first week in the Insanity Challenge. It was hard, tiring, sore and just felt like a long week.
Week 6 In Review
Week 6 in the Insanity Schedule was the first week of Month 2 and the Max Insanity Workouts. With the Max workouts we are introduced to new, harder moves, new variations of older moves, more jumping, more push-ups and about 20 minutes extra per workout. So needless to say I was or am tired and sore as hell at the completion of this week. This day officially marks the furthest I have ever made it in the Insanity Challenge. I have never completed the first week of Month 2 and I have to say I’m really proud of myself. What makes this round different from all the rest? My Challenge Insanity Group is the answer to that question. I wanted to go through a program with my challengers side by side to get the full experience of doing a program together (virtually). It has made all the difference in the world, we are there for each other day in and day out and there is no way I could have stayed as motivated and committed without them. I am starting Insanity Challenge groups all the time so be sure to check it out and join us. I have 3 more weeks of the Max workouts to go before we are done and I’m not sure how I’m going to do but I can tell you this…I WILL FINISH!
Week 6 Nutrition
My nutrition for week 6 was good up until the weekend. I had my daughters birthday party on Saturday where we had cake, pizza, chips and snow cones. I did very well for myself and stayed away from all of that nonsense because I am locked into this Insanity Challenge. Sure I wanted some, and will admit it was the hardest day so far in the challenge I have had nutritionally. Fast forward to Sunday and we have Mother’s Day where we took my mom and wife to Sonny’s Barbeque. I did as well asI could with their menu but it’s still not that “nutritious”. At the end of week 6 I finished with being 99 calories over my goal for the week and surprisingly even after my macro-nutrients were off target both Saturday and Sunday I competed the week right at 44-36-20. Which was only 1% from my goal ratio. Granted even though the macro’s were met the over all “healthy” nutrition was down a bit more than any week in the Insanity Challenge. I’m excited to start week 7 and to hopefully improve at these Max workouts. Stay tuned for week 7!
