Day 42 and the completion of 6 full weeks of P90X3 is in the books. When I started this program I had gained a lot of weight and was ashamed of myself for doing so. I set a goal to get back into the 180’s by the end of the 90 days. It would take me 13 pounds in 90 days to reach that goal. Well after just 6 weeks in the P90X3 Challenge I have reached that goal of 13 pounds and still have 6 weeks to go!
Week 6 In Review
This week had its ups and downs but I persevered and got it done. I began week 6 sick with some sort of virus but I was determined not to miss a single workout. Monday was the strength training workout Eccentric Upper in which we hammer the upper body. I was able to do this workout without much flack from being sick. I did increase my numbers on the workouts so it went rather well. That is until I got to Tuesday and the Triometrics workout. An intense cardio workout while being sick was not a good idea to say the least. I struggled through the entire workout and eventually had to quit at the 24 minute mark. Wednesday was my savings grace day with X3 Yoga, a nice day to stretch and recover, literally. The rest of the week I pushed myself harder than I have ever in any X3 workout. I increased my reps, weights and intensity. Ending week 6 with a BANG!
Week 6 Nutrition
If you have followed my daily P90X3 journey then you know that I’m trying not to be anal with my nutrition. Meaning if I mess up I’ll move on and forget it. Not to be so structured that it’s something I can’t maintain. I had a great week in terms of my nutrition until that damn weekend hit. I had a couple of meals that were not up to snuff to be called good nutrition to say the least. In fact on Saturday I had a full cheat meal, but still no soda. I really felt like after a few meals of bad choices that it may affect the scale and my drive, but I’m moving on and getting this thing done day by day.
Week 6 In Conclusion
Like I said from the beginning week 6 had its ups and downs but in the end I lost 1.6 pounds. It shows you that having high intensity in the workouts and a good nutrition 80% of the time will still get results. And with only doing 30 minute workouts at that. Next week is the last week in the 2nd block (can you believe that) before the transition week. I’m going for broke all 6 workouts this week and I’m going to feel it “burn”. All I can do is my best, and forget the rest right. Stay tuned.
