Day 43 is the last day we tackle the Eccentric Upper workout in the 2nd block. The P90X3 Challenge schedule is set up much like the previous versions of P90X with 3 phases. And this is the last strength training week of the 2nd block. Next week is the transition week. It’s weird to feel like we are almost done with the 2nd block but are not even half way in the P90X3 Challenge.
Day 43 Eccentric Upper
On day 43 I wasn’t able to up my weights today except on a few moves. On the push ups I went with move range of motion to increase the intensity. One thing I noticed today was I wasn’t as effected by the pace as I was the first two times through this routine. It still took me just under 40 minutes to complete the eccentric upper routine. I have the select tech dumbbells and I have to pause the DVD, check my workout sheet to see the weight I used last and then to set the weights. So this takes more time than allowed in the pacing of P90X3. I felt spent by the time I was done so I know I gave it my all. It’s a great feeling at the end of a workout to feel like you really worked out hard. I’ll continue this trend through the rest of the 90 days. I just wish my nutrition could be perfect but it’s just not my reality right now, but I’m doing what I can in my terms so I can sustain it and not blow it when I’m done with this challenge.
Day 43 Eccentric Upper Nutrition
Breakfast – egg whites, topped with goat cheese, whole grain toast (8 oz. green tea)
Post Workout – Chocolate Shakeology, add whey protein
Lunch – Grilled chicken, veggie’s juiced, brown rice
Snack – Quest Protein Bar, .80 oz almonds
Dinner – Lean pork chops, brown rice, green beans
Snack – 1/2 protein bar, .25 oz almonds
