Day 46
was the second time I got to do What is lisinopril used for
and it seemed to go much better than last week. This is the so-called recovery day in the Insanity Challenge. This is a nice pace change from all the craziness during the beginning of the week. Even though it’s called recovery we still work the deep muscle tissue pretty hard. This was just the day I needed and ready to get this week going again.
Day 46 Max Recovery
Here we go! Day 46 and my second recovery day of a total of four, meaning only 2 weeks left! I was not looking forward to this routine since I had a really hard time with it last week. But I have to say once we started it went by pretty fast and I actually enjoyed it. There is a lot of plank work and push ups in this routine. In fact, this whole second month and the Max workouts seem to have tripled the amount of push-ups we do compared to month 1. In Max Recovery there is an entire segment where we are doing a lot of push-ups and last week I had to bail out of them. This week I went as long as I could go and then I modified them by doing them from my knees. Not a very “manly” push up but I did what I had to do to complete the set. Once we got to the squats I was ready to Dig Deep. I noticed that they seemed to go by a little faster today than I remembered last time. I guess progress plays with your mind. I was able to do “most” of the squat workout but had to come out to give my legs a break a few times. Just like in month 1 recovery days my heart rate doesn’t get too high with this workout and I think I barely burned 200 calories. Tomorrow is going to make up for that, we have 2 workouts on the schedule. Max Cardio Conditioning followed with Cardio Abs.
Day 46 Max Recovery Nutrition
My Day 46 nutrition was a bit off kilter. You might as well call it a shake day. I started the day and had egg whites with toast for breakfast. For my post workout and first snack I had my usual. The results and recovery drink right after the workout and Shakeology about an hour later. Lunch was where I changed things up a bit today. The other day I was watching one of the Beachbody Live Streams with Shaun T. He was on there answering Insanity questions and even talked about his new program (probably my next) Focus T-25. Near the end of the stream he was talking about Shakeology and a recipe that he does. It sounded amazing and I wanted to give it a try. Well here is the catch, it’s about 350-450 calories depending on how you prepare it. So it’s NOT a snack, this recipe would be a MEAL replacement for me. Even though on the My Fitness Pal image below the Shaun T Shakeology recipe is in the dinner slot I prepared it for lunch. I didn’t want that many carbs at the end of the day. Being the way I made it came out to about 450 calories. For this reason my dinner was rather small, as in a bowl of cottage cheese and a side of almonds. I finished day 46 at 1980 calories and my macro-nutrients at 44-36-20. If you’d like to take a look at Shaun T’s Shakeology Recipe Click here.
