Day 55 and the last workout of week 8 have come to a close. Today’s workout was back to our Recovery week workout in the way of Core Cardio and Balance. It’s actually nice to have this one on a Saturday since it’s not to long and not really too hard to do compared to the Max workouts. Oh, and did I mention there’s only one more week to go in the Insanity Challenge. How crazy is that!
Day 55 Core Cardio And Balance
Core Cardio and Balance is actually one of my favorite Insanity workouts. The only difficulty I have with it is when we had to do it 6 days in a row. Doing all these Max workouts has been great but they are intense workouts to say the least so when I noticed today was Core Cardio and Balance I smiled. I was happy to see it on the schedule. The hardest portion of this routine is those blasted Hip Flexor Burners. I can do most of that segment but when we get to the pulses I end up dropping out with about 5 seconds left. And I know what you’re thinking, 5 seconds, really. Well those last five seconds of the entire 90 seconds have proven to be very difficult to master. One day I’ll get it, one day!
Because of the way I flipped the schedule (Fit Test on my rest day) I haven’t had a rest day since day 42, over 10 days ago. I am feeling the effects from that too believe me. So tomorrow is a scheduled rest day and I plan to take it and enjoy the hell out of it. With only 7 more workouts in the challenge I need my rest so I can give it my all and finish up strong.
Day 55 Core Cardio And Balance Nutrition
Nutrition for 55 was another success. I started my day off right with the Insanity Egg Sandwich from the nutrition guide. Something different from the norm for me was a nice change. Lunch was a simple deli sandwich with a side of fresh strawberries. We had some family in from Colorado this weekend so dinner was at my parent’s house. They grilled up some chicken and pork chops. Because I had already met my carb intake for the day I did’nt eat anything other than the chicken and pork with a side of tomatoes. This was another nice change in my nutrition for the day. It’s nice to add a little variety from time to time. All in all I finished day 55 with 1969 calories and my macros were at 45-36-19. Stay Tuned.
