We tackle The Challenge
on day 59. This is the first time we’ve done this routine since day 18. It’s has a weird feeling going back to workouts that we haven’t done in over 4 weeks. At the same time I enjoy seeing if I can improve from where I left off. The Challenge
workout is basically the Chest and Back routine from the original P90X, although it’s at a much faster pace.
Day 59 The Challenge
The last time I did The Challenge I really went for it and crushed the previous numbers I was using and was left feeling wasted at the end. So the question for today was do I attempt to match those numbers or surpass them. It’s been over 4 weeks since the last time I did this workout so I wasn’t sure how I would hold up during the routine. In between the last time and this time we really haven’t been focusing on push ups so it was a toss-up if I wanted to try to do more reps. My previous numbers were 20-12 (push ups/pull ups) and like I said that left me wasted, so I decided to just match that. Once I got going in the very first move and I hit the 20th push up I still had both more time and energy and I did a few more. I continued to increase my push up reps where I could and do at least the 20 everywhere else. Once again I was pretty much waisted by the time we finished The Challenge but as long as I’m not nauseated it’s ok.
Day 59 The Challenge Nutrition
This is my 3rd day tracking my nutrition and it took a little more effort than it did yesterday. I had to keep plugging in different foods to finally get the ratios I needed. I started the day with the same breakfast from the last few days, I know BORING, but I enjoy it and it’s easy to prepare. For lunch I went with some tuna, brown rice and broccoli. One thing you’ll really notice when you track your nutrition is how conscious you’ll be towards your nutrition. I plugged in my favorite brown rice today and was blown away by the sodium in contained, even at a half serving was over 350 grams of sodium! So I cut that serving in half so I could still enjoy it but not have it blow away my sodium intake for the day. Dinner was left over chicken with some asparagus spears and quinoa. I finished day 59 with 1837 calories and my Free advice at 33-39-28. Stay tuned.
