MMX is still one of my favorite routines of this P90X3 Challenge. And what’s funny is I hated Kenpo X from the original P90X. On day 65 we take on MMX during a week day which is a little weird because before today it’s always fell on a Saturday. I don’t think I like this workout better than CVX but it’s a close second.
Day 65 MMX
I really went for it today. I tried to pretty much keep up with the cast during the entire workout. Which I was able to do for the most part. Today was a day when I really pushed pass my comfort zone and when I had nothing left I kept going. According to my heart rate monitor I was in Zone 5 for over 7 minutes. My best prior to today was probably between 3-5 minutes. To me that’s amazing and it shows how I’m progressing through the P90X3 Challenge. Being only the 4th time I’ve done MMX I’m proud that I have all the moves down and no longer have to wait for the cues to be able to get it done. There’s only one move I have to modify and that’s only because I don’t have the room to do it. If you have done this workout you know that Tony added a ton of sprawls to the routine, and today I made sure for each sprawl we did I kept up with the speed of the cast members (and Tony when he was doing them). It’s always nice to be able to keep up with the cast members on any workout. The next step is to out do them, time will tell.
Day 65 MMX Nutrition
I went ahead and started day 65 out with oatmeal like I did yesterday. I like doing that so I can have egg whites for lunch. Both are easy and quick meals to prepare. For dinner my wife made the request for anything other than chicken. When we eat clean we eat A LOT of chicken and it’s starting to get old. Especially when we have it for lunch in addition to dinner. So tonight I’m trying a new recipe. It’s called “sweet sloppy joes”, I saw this recipe on the FitMenCook instagram and wanted to give it a try. If you’d like to see the recipe click here. It only took a few minutes to prepare and it was really good. Plus it adds a little variety to my nutrition and I even had some left over to use another day. I capped off day 65 with 1932 calories with my macros right at 33-39-28.
