I have completed the first week in the P90X3 Challenge. I have to admit it was a great week of workouts and even my nutrition was pretty good. P90X3 does have an option to workout on the 7th day or to use it as a rest day. I chose to use it as a rest day just to relax and watch some playoff football.
Week 1 In Review:
So the first week in the P90X3 Challenge went well. One of the weird things about the first week in a new program is I find myself holding back a little bit not knowing what is to come in a specific workout. And with these workouts at only 30 minutes they really do fly by, of course there isn’t much time to rest or realize what you’re doing. One of my favorite aspects of P90X3 is NO REPEAT workouts in the same week. If you followed me during the Insanity challenge you’ll know I hated doing the same workout inside of the same week. I find it hard to push myself because my mind is not on the task of doing a workout I just did a couple of days ago. With P90X3 we do 6 (or 7) workouts in a week, then revisit those workouts NEXT week. And another BIG Bonus is we only do them for 3 weeks until we completely switch up the routine. WOOT WOOT! No more complacency or bordom here.
Week 1 Nutrition
My nutrition felt perfect for the first 5 days of the week. It’s the weekends where I’ll struggle. I did my best on the weekend giving the situations I was in and I’m not losing sleep over it at all. As Tony says “Do your best and forget the rest”. I tried a few new recipes this week which in my opinion were all winners. I’ll probably use a lot of them again this coming week. Week 1 Conclusion
My conclusion for week 1 of the P90X3 challenge is that is was a great start to what I think will be a wonderful journey and transformation for myself. I dropped exactly 4 pounds this week. I know most of that was water weight but hey, it’s a start. I have a long way to go to get to my Insanity weight. This next week I’ll be upping the intensity especially now that I know what to expect in each workout.
