Getting really close to the end now, or at least it seems. Today is day 70 and the end of week 10. Week 10 definitely had its ups and downs but I guess every week does huh. I’m really enjoying the extra variety in this final phase. It definitely keeps you and your body guessing. I have to check the P90X3 schedule everyday to make sure I do the right workout.
Week 10 In Review
Week 10 workouts went amazing! I haven’t missed a single workout thus far in the P90X3 Challenge and I don’t plan to from here on out. This was the second week in the final phase of P90X3. It’s flipped from last week with all different workouts except for the decelerator. And instead of yoga we have pilates to deal with. For me personally I do not care for pilates so seeing it on the schedule was not a good thing to see. I ended up swapping it out for X3 Yoga which I really like. The other thing that’s different is the Pilates/yoga day was moved back a day from Thursday to Friday. No worries there it actually felt good to have it scheduled that way. I guess this is where the whole “muscle confusion” is taking place. After two weeks in the last block I have enjoyed the set up and variety. Only 2 more weeks to finish out the block before the “Victory week”.
Week 10 Nutrition
So I had a great week of workouts but how did my nutrition go? Well to be honest I was doing well until…you guessed it, the weekend. We had 3 meals that we ate out on and two of them were not “too bad” but the 3rd one was a mind blower! On Sunday we go out after church with friends and family and this week we decided to go to Beef O Bradys. I ordered the Grilled Chicken Wrap without mayo or ranch. Sounds good right, well, it was only afterwards when I entered it into My fitness pal that I realized how “good” it was. According to their website that one item had over 1,000 calories, 68 grams of fat (OMG!) and over 2,500 mg of sodium. I can only hope that there is some mistake with those numbers as the wrap seemed small and I had nothing else with it. Like I said totally blew my mind and I can say I won’t be ordering that EVER again. I still have a lot of work to do on my weekend nutrition but it’s a work in progress I guess. I keep the rest of the week very clean so I’m hopeful a few questionable meals a week won’t be enough to derail me completely. In the image below you can see my weekly macro targets. I went I little higher on my protein and lower on the carbs (on purpose) and even though I met my goal for fats I was trying to stay below 30%. Something I will have to make sure of next week.
Week 10 In Conclusion
Another week down and I’m moving on to week 11 of 13. I have to say that even thought the nutrition took a small hit this week that my spirits are still up. I’m not perfect nor do I expect to be. I started this challenge to change my life not just these 90 days so it’s important to me to stay realistic for myself. I don’t have to look like a fitness model to be proud of myself, I only have to be the best me I can be and that’s good enough for me. Did that rhyme? In terms of weight loss, if you were wondering, I’m down another 2.2 pounds putting me at a total loss of 20.2 pounds since starting the P90X3 Challenge. Stay tuned.
