Now we begin week 11! Day 71 is the first day of week 11 and we are met once again with the Decelerator workout. I was surprised my legs still had a little bit of soreness from my Saturday workout but it didn’t affect today’s routine too much.
Day 71 Decelerator
This is the third time I have had the pleasure of doing this workout and I’m starting to notice a few things. One being that as we begin this workout Tony takes his time explaining the moves and we actually get a decent amount of time between each move. However as we start to whine down the workout the cues get decreased and the time in between moves is cut down. So be prepared to really bring it towards the end of this one. I ended up burning about 450 calories which is actually down from last week although I did feel good today. The 450 is up from the first time I did this routine so I guess that’s a win. In my opinion this is the easier of the 2 different weeks in the 3rd block of the P90X3 challenge so I’ll need to make sure I keep the intensity up in my workouts.
Day 71 Decelerator Nutrition
On day 71 I found myself second guessing my nutrition strategy once again. Should I raise my calories, should I change my macros? All these questions start to pop into my head once again. In terms of calories I feel 1900 is pretty good for my goals, but I was considering adding 100-200 more. In terms of the macros, I’m basically following the guidelines from the P90X3 nutrition guide of 30-40-30 (protein, carbs, fats), however I try to get just a bit more protein, a little less carbs and fat. Which in turn puts me closer to a macro of 35-35-30. I must have spent a good hour researching trying to figure out if I should adjust things for myself as I complete the P90X3 challenge. In the end I decided to stay the course, unless the weight loss stops, until the completion of this round. Once I begin my next program I’ll adjust accordingly. So be sure to stay tuned. I finished day 71 with 1875 calories and my macros at 35-38-27.
