Not sure where to begin with my week 11 review. Probably the worst overall week in the entire P90X3 Challenge. Even so I’m not discouraged in the least bit. In fact it may have even made me more aggressive towards my goals. There is not much room for error now I as I only have 2 weeks remaining in the schedule so let’s get to my week 11 review.
Week 11 In Review
As per the usual I had a great week of P90X3 workouts. I even had the best workout yet in the Triometrics and Total Synergistics workouts which were the last two workouts of week 11. So I’m really pumped up going into week 12. Anyways, the workouts were amazing and I feel stronger, faster and more adapted to the routines now. On top of getting all my workouts in I played in a Charity Softball Tournament that took me away all day only to come home, pop in my pre-workout drink and then crush total synergistics. My determination will not be voided and I will not miss a single workout in this P90X3 Challenge. If only the workouts were the entire equation this whole losing weight and getting ripped would be a piece of cake wouldn’t it. But that’s not the reality, the reality is the workouts are the easy part and the nutrition is the hard part.
Week 11 Nutrition
Ok, so once again my nutrition during the week was sound, until the weekend. My weight has been at a plateau so Saturday we went out with friends and me and my wife (who also seems to have plateaued) decided to go ahead and have a cheat meal. Possibly to just change things up inside our bodies to keep it on its toes. After 11 weeks of eating clean (80-20) I think our metabolism has started to speed up so we are both upping our calorie intake for the next week. And in addition to that I change the macro nutrient goals to a 40-40-20 (starting next week). Cutting down the fat % during the last 2 weeks. In just counting the weekend alone this was my worst week in terms of nutrition. Even so, I finished with a macro of 36-38-26 for the entire week. And even though the carbs finished high for the week, most of that was from Saturday when I ate more carbs to have the energy for my softball tournament and workout. I’ll continue to work on my nutrition but at the same time keep my sanity without being too restrictive.
Week 11 In Conclusion
As I said above I am moving onto week 12 and with a new macro goal of 40-40-20. It’s a slight adjustment for the final 2 weeks of the P90X3 challenge. I wanted to cut down the fat %ed these last few weeks to see if I could cut a little more fat before the day 90. In terms of weight, well the scale went in the wrong direction for the first time. Last week I was at 182.8 and when I weighed in today it read 183.8, up 1 pound from last week. However I know that is a little inflated due to my entire body being sore and holding onto extra water. I’m fairly confident when I weigh in again Wednesday or Thursday that it will be back down. Nonetheless I’m not stressing about it, I have to just keep my head up and keep moving forward. Tomorrow I begin the final week in the 3rd block and I’m pretty excited about it. I’m already trying to decide on what to do next. Stay tuned.
