Day 8 has arrived! I have to say I was looking forward to this day after the week 1 I just had. I’m ready to start anew and push through some more barriers. I wasn’t quite sure how this workout was going to go for me being I did yesterday’s workout last night, to wake up and do Cardio Power & Resistance first this in the morning.
Day 8 Cardio Power & Resistance
I started today’s workout with my mind wandering all around trying to decide on a few things. It started to take me away from this workout until I returned all my focus back to where it needed to be. I have a hard time with the Jumping and this workout likes to make you jump…YAY me! The Power jumps hit you first thing right out of the gates. I keep up with Shaun T and the crew during the first circuit of the power jumps but after that they leave me in the dust. I try to get as many as I can but I struggle to be able to jump sporadically the way they do, they’re just insane. At the end of Cardio Power & Resistance Shaun T throws in those 8 Pulses/Push-ups and every once in a while I’ll forget I have them coming up and the catch me by surprise. That happened today so I had to skip the first set, but I got in the rest. I’ll be ready next time Shaun T!
Day 8 Cardio Power & Resistance Nutrition
If you checked out my Week 1 review you would have seen where I said I was going to up my calories to 1900 per day. So starting on day 8 I decided I wanted a little bit more and reset my calorie goal to 1950. I’ll continue to meet this for one week and see where I end up next Monday. That’s 150 more calories per day and 1,050 more per week. I’m burning extra calories with Insanity so I wanted to make sure I’m getting enough. Most of my Insanity Challenger’s that have weight loss problems with Insanity eat too few calories. I was running a 1,000 + calorie deficit which is now about 850 on the days I workout. The average deficit should be 500-600 so I’m still a little above that. I only took one meal from the Insanity Diet Guide today and it was the Dinner Omelet, and I added 1/2 oz of almonds as a snack to this meal for lunch. Dinner was pretty basic, I went with grilled chicken, brown rice and a veggie. My ratio’s for today ended up at 45-34-21. I’m curious to see if there will be any difference with the calorie change. I will have to wait and see over the next few days. Stay Tuned…
