Insanity Workout Review 30 Days

Month One of my Insanity Workout is done!!!

Month in Review.

I have to say I really enjoyed these style of workouts, although very tough. Shaun T is great in this program he is there pushing you the whole time. These workouts come right at you and don’t let up one bit the enitre time so you know your burning calories. They force you to stay “in the moment” you can’t think of what move is next or any thing else becuase you are so involved with what your doing. Fortunatly they are short enough to allow you to recover each day. When Insanity first came out Shaun T said that it will be just as much of a mental workout as a physical one, so true! I find myself being a little nervous before each workout, because I know what’s to come. I have to search deep to find the mental toughnest to get through the workouts. Insanity is NOT easy and not for everyone, but it’s for me. In my opinion there should of been one or maybe two more workouts added. I had no problem repeating the workouts, but when they repeated in the same week made it much tougher. You workout for four weeks then you have the recovery week (which is what I’m in now). Four weeks really seemed perfect to me, I feel like 3 would have been to short and five to long. Month one workouts are all under 42 minutes in length, but month two workouts look to range in the 55 – 59 minutes each. I am hopeful that I have adapted to these workouts and can even finish the month two routine.

Insanity Fit Test-Just what it says, this is the fit test of specific moves. You have one minute to do each move and write down how many you can do in the minute. At only 25 minutes it’s still a pretty tough workout. I found that trying to get decent numbers actually made me push myself really hard.
Insanity Plyo Cardio Circuit-This is the first “circuit” workout of Insanity and the whole max interval training comes into play here. You’ll workout intensly for 3 minutes and then get a 30 second break, thats not an typo, 30 seconds! And don’t forget about the 10 minute insane warm up. On good days I was able to burn 800+ calories on this workout.
Insanity Pure Cardio-Loved and hated at the same time. Again you will have a 10 minutes intense warm up and during the stretch Shaun T says ” I’m really nervous for this workout”. I have to say that scared me. Pure cardio is just that CARDIO. After your warm up and stretch you will them start your workout with doing each and every move for one minute, no breaks (unless you take one yourself). Trust me you will take breaks, even the cast takes them in this one. At the conclusion of this workout everyone is dead tired. What I like about Pure cardio is NO REPEAT moves, new move each minute.
Insanity Power & Resistance-Lots and lots of floor work. Lots and lots of power (jumping) One of the harder workouts for me. This is another circuit workout and again 3 minute on 30 secondes off.
Shaun T-I was originally worried about working out to a Shaun T workout dvd. I was afraid it may be like those Hip Hop Abs dancy workouts. Well it’s not and Shaun is really good in these workouts. He’s not annoying and is very motivational and the man is INSANE! All in all I’m glad Shaun did these workouts I wouldn’t want it any other way.
