So begins my new hybrid workout. I have not done any kind of workout since my illness back in November, then taking time off to enjoy the Holidays. Something I now regret. With that being said I am ready to get back on track. I look forward to the Insanity workout
and getting back to where I want to be weight and fitness wise. Wish me luck!

Day 1 – Insanity Fit Test, well what can I say, how about “crash and burn”. One thing to note before I continue, one being that I am not able to do a workout on an empty stomach. I ususally eat a banana 30 minutes prior to my workout, but today I did not have any banana’s left (I thought I did) so I pretty much went at the Fit test on an empty stomach. The first two moves, “switch kicks and “power jacks” I went at pretty hard. MISTAKE! I started to crash pretty quickly after these two moves, so it was almost impossible to do any more. I was however able to almost complete the workout before I had to bail out due to nausea. I will be coming back to the “Fit Test” in a few weeks where I’m sure I will have adapted better by then. Anywho here are my fit test stats from Day 1.
Switch Kicks – 94
Power Jacks – 40
Power Knees – 60
Power Jumps – 20
Globe Jumps – 7
Suicide Jumps – 12
Push-up Jacks – ZERO
Low Plank Obliques – ZERO
Workout Time – 33:37
In Zone – 13:54
Average Heart Rate – 118
Max Heart Rate – 171
Calories Burned – 394
Day 2 – OFF, being that I crashed and burned yesterday I did not want a repeat. So I took today off to do my grocery shopping and get some much needed banana’s and protein. I will start tomorrow as if were today, and add the fith workout to sunday to make sure I get all five Insanity workouts in.
Day 3 – Insanity Plyometric Circuit Cardio, well well well, I had my banana and thank goodness for that because I still feel nausious, just at the end today. I’m drinking the Recovery Drink to keep me from becoming to sore and to get rid of my nausea feeling.
Workout Time – 47:44
In Zone – 46:34
Average Heart Rate – 147
Max Heart Rate – 174
Calories Burned – 860
Day 4 – Insanity Cardio Power & Resistance, another Insanity workout complete…yay! Today I woke up with just about every inch of my legs sore. Going into todays workout I was a little nervous knowing there is a lot of squat/jumps. Mainly because of my soreness. Nonetheless I went for it and did it. I am moving at a much slower pace than the Insanity cast but it’s neccesary. Even at a slower pace my heart rate reached 173 and I averaged 147 bpm. I will continue my slower pace until I have started to adapt to these workouts again.
Workout Time – 46:35
In Zone – 44:54
Average Heart Rate – 147
Max Heart Rate – 173
Calories Burned – 839
Day 5 – Insanity Cardio Recovery, recovery day is here. Although Shuan T’s version of recovery is still a rough workout, at least for me. All the deep muscle work is killer on my already sore legs. I think my legs were squimish the entire workout. It always amazes me how many calories I burn during this workout being that the this workout consist of zero plyo and any other high intensity mores. I burned 500 calories today in this 30 minute workout…whoa!
Workout Time – 35:27
In Zone – 32:15
Average Heart Rate – 129
Max Heart Rate – 166
Calories Burned – 500
Day 6 – OFF
Day 7 – Insanity Pure Cardio, today was a good day. I went right at Pure cardio and hardly let up. Only taking a few small breaks I did better in today’s workout that I think I ever had in this workout. I was able to clear my mind and just go at it. I averaged 158 bpm and burned 768 calories. It’s a good end to my first week.
Workout Time – 40:40
In Zone – 38:58
Average Heart Rate – 151
Max Heart Rate – 178
Calories Burned – 768
