I always seem to start off good but then for some reason or another a waiver from my workouts. Probably a lack of self-control. I have started over again with my P90X Insanity Hybrid workout. And this time NO BS! Even when I did the workouts I was cutting them short, NO MORE. I will be doing every workout in its entirety including the bonus rounds. If I have to I will be pressing pause, something I hate to do. I am going to commit myself to this like I did with my first 30 days of Insanity. I decided to change my hybrid workout to a 5 day a week workout. Giving me 2 days off will not only give me the rest I need, but will also give me flexibility if I have to miss a workout I will be able to get it in on one of my off days.
Day 1 Monday – P90X Chest and Back, Good day to start out with, like I mentioned before, I usually cut this one short and only do the first round. Mind you I go at it pretty hard in the first round knowing I wasn’t doing the second. This was not the case today, I did the entire workout and I’m proud of myself. I also have started to track my calories. I was surprised I was WAY to low on my calories for today. At only 1500 for the day I was way under my mark of 2000 plus. I will obviously be adding calories.

Day 2 Tuesday – Insanity Plyometric Cardio Circuit, today was the first Insanity workout in about two weeks and I really felt it. I felt pretty burned out the whole way through it. I think this is attributed by the low-calorie intake from the day before. What I do like to do during Insanity is add 1 scoop of the Recovery Formula to my water. This really keeps me from crashing. My goal for today will be to make sure I get more calories. Tonight I have a softball game so I hope I won’t be too sore. I up my calories to 1,970. Still not quite as high as I am aiming for but pretty close.

Day 3 – Wednesday – P90X Shoulders & Arms / Insanity Cardio Abs, today was a really good workout. This is still one of my favorites of the P90X series. Even though it’s a repeat workout I still enjoy it. Believe it or not, even though this is actually my 3rd round of P90X, this is the first time I did the Bonus round of this workout. I usually skipped it due to time constraints or laziness, probably the latter of the two. My arms are immediately sore and I’m having a hard time writing this, but i am certainly proud of myself doing the full workout. I did Insanity Cardio Abs after lunch, it’s easier for me to split the regular workout from the ab one. Cardio abs is only 16 minutes long so it’s easy to fit in pretty much anytime of the day. Probably not as good of an ab workout as P90X Ab Ripper, but I prefer it. After each workout I finished them off with a Strawberry Protein Shake.

Day 4 – Thursday – Insanity Pure Cardio, another rough day of Insanity. Pure Cardio is still one of my favorite Insanity workouts, but man oh man is it tough. I guess I like it because you do not repeat a single move. I felt like I was dragging most of the way through it but I know I was working hard because by the end of it I was soaked in sweat. I also was able to get my calories above 2,000, so all in all I’d say it was a good day.

Day 5 – Friday – P90X Legs & Back / Insanity Cardio Abs, This is always a killer workout for me. You just crush your legs again and again and again. For a break you get to do pull ups, yay! I complete this workout with a little nausea but that’s ok as long I don’t crash. I have heard some people say that the didn’t workout hard enough if they didn’t feel a at least a little nausea. Definitely not a great feeling, but I did it and feel accomplished. Tonight is my “Family Night”, we go to Chick-Fil-A and let the kids play on the playground. This is the one meal I cheat on for the week and I try to keep it clean as possible. I order an Original chicken sandwich on wheat with a fruit cup and a water, roughly 500 calories, the worst of this meal is the sodium. There is over 1200 mg of sodium in the sandwich, that’s almost a days worth.

Day 6 – Saturday – OFF, Today is my first day off from my Hrbrid workout. It was nice to sleep in for a change. We had a birthday party to attend of a friend, she turned 3. So I spent a lot of the time at the play park running around with the kids, a workout of its own lol.

Day 7 – Sunday – OFF, today is an off day from my workout, but I will be “working”. I have a buddy who runs a professional floor cleaning business and needs an extra hand. So I will be spending the better part of the day doing labor work. Not to bad, but work nonetheless.
Calories In: 2153
Conclusion: My 1st week of my P90X Insanity Hybrid workout and it went well. I got in every workout and did each of them completely. My diet was kept pretty clean and my calories pretty much where I wanted them. Looking forward to week 2.
