Week 2 Of my P90X Insanity Hybrid Workout
Day 8 Monday – P90X Chest & Back, my start of week two, I was excited and ready to go. I already feel stronger and increased my numbers in every push up form. Keep Pushing Play, things will happen…

Day 9 Tuesday – Insanity Plyo Cardio Circuit, so I tried something different today with this workout. Shuan T keeps saying “make sure you recover”, well the 30 seconds they give you in the program between circuits does not allow me to recover, so what I did this time was pause the dvd and let my heart rate actually recover. Circuit training is the method of working out at a high heart rate then recovering before spiking again. Every time I have done this workout I only took the 30 seconds allowed in the program. After a circuit my heart rate would be about 167, with the 30 second break I would only be at 152, which is NOT recovery for me. So today I paused the dvd and let my heart rate get down to my recovery zone which is in the 120′s. I would press play once my heart rate reached the 120′s and I was able to workout harder in each circuit doing it this way. Overall I added about 8 minutes to the workout but it was well worth it.

Day 10 Wednesday – P90X Shoulders & Arms, as I my have said 10 times before, but this is one of my favorite workouts and usually I don’t tend to like the “repeat” workouts. There are a few sets I do not enjoy, but I empty my mind and go for it.

Day 11 Thursday – Insanity Pure Cardio, had a really hard time today with this workout. I woke up tired and with a head ache. Once the warm up started my legs were sore too. I was just about ready to hit the stop button and then I talked myself into doing the workout, even if it was half assed. There were about 2 more times I had to talk myself out of hitting the stop button, I just wasn’t in it today. I did manage to do the workout and complete it but as you will see from my stats from today I was not in it and my numbers were down, but I did it…

Day 12 Friday – P90X Legs & Back, TGIF! I have to say I am glad friday is here, I am beat and sore. I really think I need a break and the weekend is here. I have the next two days off and will definitely enjoy them. I will be ready by Monday for the start of week three. Legs & back is probably one of the hardest of the P90X resistance workouts. Anything with legs involved gets my heart rate up quickly and in this workout the only break you get from legs is pull ups. Everytime I finish this workout my legs are squirmy for a little while. Glad week 2 is over, ready for a couple days off…thank goodness for the Recovery Drink!

Day 14 Sunday – Off Enjoyed the rest days, I’m ready for week 3! I’m also thinking of changing my thursday workout from Insanity Pure Cardio to P90X+ Interval X. If not P90X+ Interval X, then I will do Insanity Power & Resistance. We shall see…
