P90X Insanity Week 3 Phase 2 Update

Week seven and I’m ready to Go! This will be my last resistance week of this phase. I will also reach the half way point this week on Wednesday. I feel real proud of myself sticking to my diet, getting all my workouts in each week. It’s hard to believe I’m only half way, honestly I feel like I’ve been on this track for months. I have been religiously writing down everything regarding my workouts and I will try to up my weight and reps of each workout where possible. This is something I started to do at the start of this phase and I can’t wait to see where it takes me. I continue to drink Shakeology everyday, wow what a difference it makes. I also drink the Results & Recovery after each workout as I am pushing pretty hard everyday now. Bring It people!

W7D1 P90X Chest Shoulders & Tri ARX – I increased weight and reps again today where I could and man I tell you what it’s making these workouts harder than ever for me. Almost exhausted when I complete a workout (not quite). I almost look forward to cardio days to give my muscles a break from pushing them so hard.
W7D2 Insanity Cardio Core & Balance – I know I may sound like a broken record each time I do this workout, but I increased my intensity once again. I like to gradually increase my intensity output so I don’t crash. I know it’s time to switch this workout out for a much harder one. Probably something like Pyometric cardio circuit.
W7D3 P90X Back & Biceps ARXDay 45! Well I have made it half way through this round of P90X Insanity hybrid. Being that I write down everything I do during a workout in regards to weight and reps I know when and where to up my intensity. In doing this I increased weight again today, sometimes I even surprised myself with the amount of weight I’m lifting. The selecttech’s help in the fact that they go in 2.5 pound increments. I weighed in today and my weigh has dropped down to 191.2 down 1.8 pounds from my last weigh in. I feel that I’m on pace to get where I want to be (185) by the end of my 90 days.
W7D4 P90X Cardio X – Another awesome workout today. Still going strong here. One of the reasons I stick with Cardio X is that it has a bit of everything in it. Including Yoga, which I’m not a fan of. I have tried to wrap my mind around yoga but I just can’t seem to enjoy it, it’s just to boring. Cardio X has about 10 minutes of Yoga in it and I can’t hardly wait for it to end. That being said I understand the importance of Yoga and I’m happy to get the 10 minutes per week in that I do.
W7D5 P90X Legs & Back ARX – Toast! I upped my reps in today’s routine. If your familiar with P90X and the Legs % Back routine you know they pretty much do 25 reps of each move. Week one I started with only doing 10 reps. By the start of phase 2 I was doing 15 reps, so feeling energized I went for 20 reps today…whoa! I guess I wasn’t ready for 20 yet as I started to get nauseaoius about half way through this workout. By the time I finished I was begging for my Results and Recovery drink.
W7D6 – 2 Mile Run – I was contemplating on taking today and tomorrow off. Mainly due to the fact the I have be going at these workouts hard for 9 days straight without a break. When I woke up today I really felt energized so I did my run. I know 2 miles is no big deal for a runner, but I’m happy to do 2 miles as I am in no way a runner.
W7D7 – OFF – Much needed!

Week in review
I had another good week this week, getting in all of my workouts and keeping my diet clean with no cheats meals. Next week is my second recovery week and honestly I think it has came at a good time. I’m pretty tired and feel my muscles could use a bit of a break. With that said, I still would like to continue to do the resistance workouts because I prefer them over the cardio, but I know the recovery week is a must. I will complete my recovery week and weigh in again on Sunday before heading into phase 3. I’m hopeful I can get my weigh into the 180′s before the start of Phase 3, which would make me only 5 pounds short of my goal with 5 weeks to go. Stay Tuned!
