P90X Insanity Week 4 Phase 2 Update | Phase 2 Completed

Week 8

Begin week 8! This is my second recovery week of this routine. This means a few things for me. One, only 6 weeks left, two only 6 weeks left. I’m excited to get into the last phase of these 90 days. I plan to bring it up another notch in the next phase. All I need to do is get through this week and I’m good to go. A week of all cardio is probably a must at this point to give my muscles a break, but I would much rather keep with the resistance routines. I’m not really following and kind of schedule for this recovery week but will be doing some of the easier cardio routines of P90X and Insanity. Here we go!

W8D1 – Cardio X – The typical recovery week starts with Yoga X, and since day one I have replaced Yoga X with Cardio X so naturally I did the same for today. I wasn’t “into it” today, but still brought it and got it done. Just press play people!
W8D2 – OFF (Injured) – Yesterday afternoon I tweeked my back playing with my girls. I have a bad back to begin with, so I must twisted wrong or something and it’s been on fire since. I decided to take today off completely as a precaution, as I sit here and write this my back is still having spasms. Tomorrow is slated for a “stretch day” so that will technically give me two days off and I’m hopeful to be good to go by Thursday.
W8D3 – Injured Day 2 – My back is still jacked up, I pulled it enough for the soreness to travel all the way to my abs. If you have ever really hurt your back you know what I’m talking about. Needless to say I decided to take another day of rest. I do feel a bit better, praying I can get back to the swing of things tomorrow.
W8D4 – Insanity Core Cardio and Balance – Back in the saddle today. I was glad to get back to my workouts, I hated taking days off because I know how hard it is to get back into it.
W8D5 – P90X Core Synergistics – Why-o-Why is this workout so tough on me, LOL! It seems every time I do this routine I need my “bucket” handy. I guess pushing harder today paid it’s price.
W8D6 – 2 Mile Run – I’m feeling good, but did not really want to run today. I was fumbling through some of the presets on my treadmill but decided to just run it out like I have been. I did 2 miles at 6mph with only a few break and still improved my time.
W8D7 – OFF

Week in Review:
I had another good week, well sorta. Monday after my workout I jumped out of my chair to mess with my oldest daughter and immediately pulled something in my back. I already have a bad back so there are some exercises I take it very easy on so I don’t pull something. Unfortunately I tweaked it pretty bad, I could feel the muscles all the way around to my abs. Being cautious I took two days off. Thursday I went at my workout tenderly and felt of as long as I didn’t twist to much. Friday I went with Core Synergistics and was fine, so I’m geared up to hit my last Phase. I weighed in today and lost another 2 pounds surpassing my weight loss goal for Phase 2. In Phase 3 I will be going for broke, each and every resistance workout will be done to failure. Stay Tuned!
