P90X Insanity Week 5 Phase 3 Update | Final Week

Week 13 | Final Week

Begin week 13. Well, here it is. The FINAL WEEK, I can’t believe I made it. Don’t get me wrong this is by no means the end. Being this is a recovery week the workouts are all cardio based and not my favorite by no means. Nonetheless I will still be going for it here in the week. I will probably do 2 Insanity workouts and 3 P90X workouts for this final week. I am starting this week having already met my goal weight for this round so anything from here is a bonus. I weighed in at 183.4, exactly 1 pound from the week before. Time to bring it and never look back.

W13D1 – Insanity Cardio Recovery – I went with Cardio recovery today. I know it’s not a typical recovery workout, but I like a few things about it. One thing is it’s short (32 minutes) which worked well today as it was the first day of school for my kids. Next there is deep leg muscle work and I wanted to see how I have progressed. I amazed myself and was able to hold the entire time matching the Insanity cast. Of course my legs are throbbing now.
W13D2 – P90X Core Synergistics – Good one today, I don’t really like this workout, but I don’t really hate it either. I decided on this one because of the core work. Went for broke and it felt great today.
W13D3 – P90X Stretch X – Great day for a stretch, I feel I really needed this today. We touched on every muscle and stretched them out good.
W13D4 – Insanity Core Cardio & Balance – Pushed even harder today! Bit by bit I’m getting faster and stronger with this routine. It’s always nice to keep up with the cast. I just wish I could hold the entire hip flexor burner section.
W13D5 – Cardio X – Whoa what a workout! I went for broke today (again) this is day 89 and it was my last P90X/Insanity workout. I can actually say I out did the cast today. I went faster and harder than they do, maybe they were dogging it, but either way I out did them today!
W13D6 – 1 Mile run – Just for kick and giggle I went for a one mile run. I felt I needed to do something here on day 90. I haven’t cracked a mile in under 10 minutes in I don’t know how long today’s goal was to crack 10 minutes. And I did it, finished at 8:38 a great end to this 90 days!

Week in Review:
Well, that’s it! 91 days completed. This week was the last one for this round and it was a good one. I don’t tend to like the recovery weeks in P90X. This week I hand picked my workouts and thoroughly enjoyed them, plus I was able to push harder and go faster than I had probably ever done on these workouts. I will be updating the entire 90 days shortly so stay tuned….
