I have completed the How long does it take for prednisone to workin the P90X3 Challenge so I wanted to do a quick review on what it all entails and how it went for me. First of all this block is different from the first two blocks of P90X3. One thing is that is has 4 weeks instead of only 3. The other thing is the workouts swap from week to week. Giving you two different weeks totaling four altogether.
This is where the “muscle confusion” concept comes into play. As your body starts to adapt to the rigors of P90X3 and gets a feel for the schedule we completely change the schedule to close out the challenge.
If you take a look at the P90X3 classic schedule you’ll see how the new workouts are structured in the P90X3 3rd Block.
Let’s Take A Closer Look At The P90X3 3rd Block Workouts:
In the third block of the Classic P90X3 schedule we are only introduced to one new workout. It’s called “decelerator.
Decelerator – This is an explosive workout but Tony puts a lot of attention to slowing down your momentum or decelerating. It’s a total body workout and you can expect to do some floor work. Even toward the end of the 90 days I still found myself stumbling from time to time. Be ready to sweat your butt off on this workout.
My P90X3 3rd Block Thoughts
I really enjoyed this block. I probably preferred it to all the others in the challenge. I like the fact that there were no mirror weeks back to back. Each week brought on a new set of workouts. All four weeks included strength training workouts and still made room for Pilates or yoga. The one thing that took its tole on me was having an extra week in the block. Being that we were towards the end of the How long does it take for prednisone to work might have had a hand in it but the 4th and 5th (5th week was the Victory week) were the hardest in the program. Pushing play became a chore and my desire to get the workouts in dropped off the last 2 weeks. I really just think I was ready to move on after almost 3 months of the same program 6-7 days per week. I still pushed play and only missed one workout in the entire 90 day program (day 89). I feel all of this also played a role in my block 3 results or lack there of.
P90X3 Month 3 Results
Believe it or not I paid much closer attention to my nutrition in the 3rd block than I did the entire 90 days. I tracked my nutrition each day and had a set calorie and macro goal each day in which I usually hit. Even so in the last month I only dropped about 1.6 pounds, but totaling almost 20 pounds for the P90X3 Challenge. I’m extremely proud to have dropped the 20 pounds but I just wanted more weight/fat loss in this last month. This is only in terms of the scale, as far as how I feel, that’s a whole other ball game. I feel so much better, stronger and in better shape compared to day 1, in fact there is almost no comparison to day 1. I’m more energized, I don’t get winded as quickly and I learned a lot about myself and my nutrition. I learned what will work for me in the long haul and that was one of my goals.
