Day 35 and the completion of the recovery week of the Insanity Challenge. And if you have followed any of my posts this week you’ll know that I’m very happy to be done with it. Doing the same workout everyday got old very quickly.
Week 5 In Review
Week 5 in the Insanity Schedule was the Insanity Recovery Week and I knew it was going to be a tough week for me. Not so much physically, but more mentally. This week we do the workout Core Cardio and Balance every day (6 days in a row). Doing this workout so much in a row you’ll notice things and for me they started to really get under my skin. Like I mentioned on day 30 there were to people in the cast that really bothered me, mostly Tonya and the girl in the back left with the red top. Click here to see how I felt about them on that day lol. I missed my first workout this week due to illness, but continued on schedule the next day. Missing one day wasn’t enough to redo a week, especially a recovery week. I completed each workout with out a needed break or stop other than the ones scheduled in the routine. The only move I could not complete physically was the Hip Flexor Burners. I was disappointed that even after a week of doing them on the last day I still couldn’t complete the entire set. I have to say I’m ready to move on and start the Max Insanity workouts, which will begin tomorrow. The Max Insanity workouts will add new warm-ups, new moves and about 20 more minutes per day. That last part is what I fear the most. Adding 20 minutes to an already insane routine is going to be, well…insane! Nonetheless I’m looking forward to it. I hope you’ll follow my daily posts and post comments of encouragement or anything to help me keep going.
Week 5 Nutrition
My week 5 nutrition was fairly sound and right on target. Friday was the day I was ill and didn’t workout so my calories were down that day bringing the entire weeks total down. I completed the entire week 186 calories under my goal of 1950 per day. Not too shabby in terms of a week. My macro-nutrients were close to perfect again, missing the target ratio’s by 1%. Next week begins the Max Insanity Workouts and I have decided (for at least the first week) to up my calories per day by 100 bringing my daily calorie target to a minimum of 2000. I’ll be keeping my macro ratio goals the same for now which is at 45-35-20. I’ll update on my week 6 review if that works well or not. Stay tuned as I start to tackle Month 2. Time to Dig Deep!
