Max Hybrid Workout | Week 1

So begins my new hybrid workout. I have not done any kind of workout since my illness back in November, then taking time off to enjoy the Holidays. Something I now regret. With that being said I am ready to get back on track. I look forward to the Insanity workout and getting back to where I want to be weight and fitness wise. Wish me luck! [Read more...]

P90X Combined With Insanity | Week 3

Begin Week 3 of My P90X Insanity Hybrid Workout. P90X Insanity Hybrid Workout

Day 15 Monday – P90X Chest & Back, I had probably the best workout I have ever had with this routine. In the words of Tony Horton, “I crushed it”. I went all out, I even felt stronger than the week before, could have just been my mind set, but nonetheless I really crushed this workout. My goal will be to keep up with the cast before I finish the 90 days, and today I just about kept up with them. I fininshed it off with my Protein Shake. Feeling really good!

Workout Time: 55:02
In Target Zone: 36:16
Avg Heart Rate: 122
Peak Heart Rate: 153
Calories Burned: 672

Day 16 Tuesday – Insanity Plyo Cardio Circuit, had another good day today. I did this workout the same way as last week. I pressed pause and let my heart rate recover before doing each circuit. I really think this is what your suppose to do, although it does add about 10 minutes to the workout while waiting for my heart rate to recover. I’m sure this will vary depending on the individual. I burned over 800 calories today and it felt great.

Workout Time: 52:59
In Target Zone: 49:55
Avg Heart Rate: 143
Peak Heart Rate: 171
Calories Burned: 885

NO MORE B.S. | P90X Combined with Insanity Workout

P90X Insanity Hybrid WorkoutI always seem to start off good but then for some reason or another a waiver from my workouts. Probably a lack of self control. I have started over again with my P90X Insanity Hybrid workout. And this time NO BS! Even when I did the workouts I was cutting them short, NO MORE. I will be doing everyworkout in it’s entirety including the bonus rounds. If I have to I will be pressing pause, something I hate to do. I am going to commit myself to this like I did with my first 30 days of Insanity. I decided to change my hybrid workout to a 5 day a week workout. Giving me 2 days off will not only give me the rest I need, but will also give me flexibility if I have to miss a workout I will be able to get it in on one of my off days.

Day 1 Monday – P90X Chest and Back, Good day to start out with, like I mentioned before, I usually cut this one short and only do the first round. Mind you I go at it pretty hard in the first round knowing I wasn’t doing the second. This was not the case today, I did the entire workout and I’m proud of myself. I also have started to track my calories. I was surprised I was WAY to low on my calories for today. At only 1500 for the day I was way under my mark of 2000 plus. I will obviously be adding calories.

Workout Time: 55:53
In Target Zone: 25:00
Avg Heart Rate: 115
Peak Heart Rate: 153
Calories Burned: 600
Calories In: 1500

Day 2 Tuesday – Insanity Plyometric Cardio Circuit, today was the first Insanity workout in about two weeks and I really felt it. I felt pretty burned out the whole way through it. I think this is attributed by the low calorie intake from the day before. What I do like to do during Insanity is add 1 scoop of the Recovery Formula to my water. This really keeps me from crashing. My goal for today will be to make sure I get more calories. Tonight I have a softball game so I hope I won’t be to sore. I up my calories to 1,970. Still not quite as high as I am aiming for but pretty close.

Workout Time: 44:36
In Target Zone: 42:12
Avg Heart Rate: 142
Peak Heart Rate: 170
Calories Burned: 732
Calories In: 1970

P90X Shoulders & Arms Day 3

Day 3 of my P90X Insanity hybrid workout. Man oh man I can really tell I have not done resistance training for some time. As I am writing this my chest, arms, lats, and triceps are killing me, but thats good right. No pain no gain as they say. My calorie burn from P90X is considerably lower than that of Insanity, but that is expected. I am doing most of the P90X workouts but do to time constainst I have to skip ahead to the cool down. Todays workout, shoulders and arms is about 56 minutes and I cut it down to 42 minutes, mainly only cutting the “bonus round”. I was surprised that with this workout my average heart rate was 120 bpm. I burned 492 calories with this workout. Yesterday I did the Insanity workout Plyo Cardio Curcuit. With taking two weeks off this workout drove me into the ground. I felt waisted almost the entire workout grasping for oxygen. I was somehow still able to burn 678 calories but felt like I was dogging it most of the way through. In the relms of P90X tomorrow is the Yoga day, with my “hybrid” workout I have decided to do the Cardio Recovery from Insanity. It has many yoga moves and holds but still a great calorie burn as well as only lasting less than 30 minutes compared to 90 minutes of Yoga X.

Day 2
Insanity Plyo Cardio Circuit
Minutes Worked Out -42:24
In Zone – 38:04
Avg Heart Rate – 140
Max Heart Rate – 170
Calories Burned – 678

Day 3
P90X Shooulders & Arms
Minutes Worked Out – 41:43
In Zone – 24:04

P90X Insanity Hybrid Workout

After two weeks of not working out, I finally was able to get back on track. Two weeks ago I tweaked my hamstring during a softball tournament, after I was able to put full weight on it and ready to start my workout routine, I got sick! Today was day 1 of my P90X and Insanity hybrid workout. Day one consist of P90X workout Chest & Back, I have not done this workout since my last round of P90X back in May. I am glad to be doing resistance training again after the 30 day cardio Insanity. Although I feel like I will be prepared for the cardio days I was surprised how much I felt waisted after todays resistance workout. Two words come to mind “Bring It”.

P90X and Insanity Workout Routines | Hybrid Workout

P90X Insanity Hybrid WorkoutI have completed “month 1″ of the Insanity Workout. This past weekend I had a softball tournament where I tweaked my hamstring. So I am taking this current week off to let it heal. The month 2 workouts are a little extended and last upwards of 60 minutes. For this reason I have decided not to continue into month 2. Don’t get me wrong I actually enjoy the Insanity program and Shaun T is really great. Even though I feel like I have adapted to the Insanity workout, I do not think I’m ready for month 2 and an entire hour of Insanity nonetheless. Plus, I would like to add weight training in addition to the cardio portion of a workout routine. I actually miss it.

So for this reason I am going to combine Insanity with the P90X Workout as sort of a hybrid workout. I will be doing a 6 day a week workout, 3 days of resistance and 3 days of cardio. I will use the resistance training of P90X and the cardio from Insanity. As far as the ab workouts I will use the Insanity workout cardio abs, Cardio Abs has no crunches like Ad ripper so it will create less stress on my back.

Heres the layout of workouts for my first 30 days:

Day 1 – P90X Chest & Back / Insanity Cardio Abs
Day 2 – Insanity Plyo Cardio Circuit
Day 3 – P90X Shoulders & Arms / Insanity Cardio Abs
Day 4 – Insanity Cardio Recovery
Day 5 – P90X Legs & Back / Insanity Cardio Abs
Day 6 – OFF
Day 7 – Insanity Pure Cardio

I will do this routine for the first 30 days then switch the resistance days to the phase 2 routine of P90X.

Here is the P90X Insanity Hybrid Workout Schedule I’m following: (click to enlarge)
