Yes sir, day 60 is here! For a lot of people, they may think day 60 is the last day in the Insanity Challenge. Well, that’s not the case, it’s actually a full 9 week program at 63 days. That means only 3 days left, 2 max workouts and the fit test. Normally Thursday is reserved for a recovery day, but not in the last week of Insanity. This week they switch it and drop the recovery workout and schedule Core Cardio and Balance. I don’t burn many calories with the this routine but it’s still more than I burn with the recovery.
Day 60 Core Cardio and Balance
Since I have the kids home from school on summer vacation and since today’s workout is not as intense as the usual. I had my kids workout with me today. Core Cardio and Balance is much more “kid” friendly but I still had them skip a few moves. If you are familiar with this routine you know about the shoulder burners at the end. To keep their interest I made a little wager between them. I told them if they could do the entire segment without dropping their arms I’d reward them each with a $20 bill. I didn’t think there was any way they could hold out at all or even make it close to be honest. Well, let’s just say I’m out $40! It’s funny how you can push yourself further when there is a reward at the end. Maybe we all need a little motivation from time to time, I know I do. Either way I was glad to have them join me in the workout even if it cost me $40. I was so proud of them to make it to the end. If you’ve done this workout you know it’s not an easy move to complete the entire segment without dropping. Even some of the cast have to drop out.
Day 60 Core Cardio and Balance Nutrition
I have done 60 days of good nutrition in this challenge and there is no stopping now. I started day 60 with a bowl of Proatmeal from the nutrition guide. My snack was Shakeology but I went with the Shaun T Shakeology Recipe again and will continue to do so. It’s so addictive and yummy. For lunch I dug back into the Insanity nutrition guide and cooked up the Chicken meatball recipe. One of my top 3 favorites from the guide. At dinner time I went with more a breakfast style dinner and whipped up some egg whites with a side of almonds. Another good day for me on the nutrition side and I’m starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. I finished day 60 with 1944 calories and my macro’s at 45-35-20. Stay tuned.
