Made it to day 34! I was happy to get back in the saddle today after needing to take yesterday off due to feeling under the weather. 34 days of this Insanity Challenge have been amazing and the hardest part has yet to come. Monday we begin Month 2 and the MAX Insanity workouts adding more difficult moves and about 20 minutes more each day. Excited and a little scared at the same time.
Day 34 Core Cardio & Balance
Day 34 represents the very last time in this recovery week I have to do the Core Cardio & Balance routine. We tackle it again in Month 2 but not on consecutive days. I’m happy to have made it through this week and I have only missed 1 day in the first 34. Going into today I decided I wasn’t going to push myself too hard and basically take it easy the whole routine. Well that didn’t happen, I completed the workout and every move with no breaks once again and felt great. I must be over whatever it was I was dealing with. I hate feeling sick and for some reason when I do get sick (not very often) it hits me so fast I never see it coming. This completes the recovery week for me other than tomorrow’s “rest day” which I will need to prepare for Month 2. I’m looking forward to the new set of workouts and the new challenge in completing the entire Insanity Challenge.
Day 34 Core Cardio & Balance Nutrition
My nutrition for day 33 was another good day in the books. Weekends are always much harder for me to stick to my nutrition. My wife and kids are home all day making things a little harder, but they support me 100% in this Challenge and I can’t tell you how much that makes things that much better. I went with my favorite breakfast item from the Nutrition guide and had the Proatmeal recipe for breakfast. At lunch I grilled up some chicken, chopped it up and added it to some brown rice, steamed kernal corn and peas, mixed it altogether for a great lunch the family enjoys. For dinner I was more on my own and had some left-over grilled chicken and green beans. I have stayed away canned veggies all week, but today I was completely out. So my dinner green beans came from a can and it’s the only veggies this week I had that way. I finished day 33 with 1960 calories and my macro-nutrients at 45-36-19.
