And here we are on day 56! This is the second transition week of 3 that we will experience during the P90X3 Challenge. If I’m being completely honest I would say I don’t really care for the transition weeks too much. They do serve a purpose and are very much-needed if you are pushing yourself out of your comfort zone the way I have been doing lately. I’d just prefer to keep on rocking on with the strength training.
Week 8 In Review
Day 56 and the completion of the transition week. At the end of the 2nd block I was starting feel really feel worn down. I had pushed myself harder during the workouts than I probably have ever done. So for me the transition week came at a perfect time. That doesn’t mean I enjoyed the transition week but I know I needed it. There is basically only 2 “real” workouts in the transition week where I burn a substantial amount of calories. The other 4 workouts are more of stretching, balance and recovery. And they say if you want to improve and get better you need to recover, hence we have the transition week. I began this week with really sore legs and the first two workouts were no help in recovering them at all. It wasn’t until Thursday of Friday til my legs felt like they were back to normal. On top of that I started experiencing headaches and dizziness for a couple of days. I’m not sure if I was sick or what. Once all of that subsided I really capped off week 8 well. Ending the week with CVX (my favorite) and X3 yoga.
Week 8 Nutrition
My nutrition for week 8 was how it’s been during this P90X3 Journey so far. I had a great week of nutrition and then the weekend I taper off. Even though I taper off on the weekend I’m still mindful of keeping good nutrition guidelines in check. I make the best of the circumstances and I don’t dwell on things that I could have done better. I am doing this for the long haul not just these 90 days so I have to be honest with myself. Could my nutrition have been better this weekend? Sure! But I still enjoy myself and try to make the best decisions while still having a good time.
Week 8 In Conclusion
Being week 8 was the transition week and there is not a big calorie burn I did not expect to see much movement in the scale. SO you can imagine my surprise when I weighed in and had a 3 pound loss and a total of 18 pounds lost since day 1. Now, that number is a little inflated due to the low number I had the week before. All in all the scale is moving in the right direction. I will admit that seeing a 3 pounds loss is kind of nerve-racking because it makes me wonder if my calorie intake may have been too low. It’s highly unlikely due to the fact I never feel hungry and I eat every 2-3 hours. Nonetheless I have decided for the last block of the P90X3 Challenge I will go back to tracking my nutrition like I did during my Insanity Challenge. I’ll be posting my nutrition for each day with a goal of 1800-1900 calories and a macro of 30-40-30 (proteins, carbs, fats) as stated in the P90X3 Nutrition Guide. Stay tuned!
