9 weeks or 63 days are in the bag! I’m still going strong and really enjoying the challenge that is P90X3. I know I’ve said it before but I love the variety in the program. Here we are on day 63 and I’m doing workouts that still feel new to me. And with the way the P90X3 schedule is set up it will stay that way through the entire process.
Week 9 In Review
Week 9 is the first week in the 3rd block of P90X3, did you get that? Anyways this is the block where we start the “muscle confusion” process of P90X3. After following the same set up for the entire first 3 weeks, then a new set up for the second 3 weeks we are now combining those to create an entirely new set of 2 different weeks in this last month. And on top of all of that we even get a brand new workout we haven’t even seen yet. The new workout added to this last phase is called decelerator, for the most part we learn how to decelerate our own momentum. Another thing that’s different in this block is the fact that X3 yoga has now been pushed back a day from Wednesday to Thursday. I was a little weary of this because throughout this entire process by the time it was yoga day I really needed it for being so sore. Well after this week I now know I don’t have to worry about this anymore. I made it through without too much soreness and yoga seemed to fit in the schedule perfectly once again.
Week 9 Nutrition
As this is the final block in the P90X3 Challenge I decided I was going to take my nutrition to the next level. My nutrition has been pretty good thus far but there is always room for improvement. What does taking my nitrition to the next level infer? As of day 57 I am tracking my nutrition with My fitness pal. I am meeting a goal of 1900 calories and a macro ratio of 30-40-30 (proteins, carbs, fats) as outlined in the P90X3 Nutrition Guide. It’s been an interesting week having to enter everything that I eat. I will say that it makes me so much conscious of what I eat even when I don’t eat something good. Starting from day 57 you can see my nutrition from each day on that day’s post. I will continue this until the 90 days are finished. I want to finish this program with the best of my ability all the while still sticking to the original plan. In week 9 I was really close to my over goals in calories and macros. You can see for yourself how close I was below.
Week 9 In Conclusion
All in all week 9 was a success. Although it’s also the first time this entire P90X3 Challenge that I didn’t lose any weight. I weighed in at 185 as I did the last week and even thought I didn’t lose on the scale I feel “skinnier”, does that make sense? Not losing weight on the scale is not something that will get me down. I will, as Shaun T says “Trust and Believe” in the process. Next week I feel will be the more difficult week in terms of strength training as the 2 eccentric workouts are in this coming week. Too bad there is no more Incinerator workouts from here on out, I really enjoyed that one. I’ll continue with sticking to the P90X3 nutrition guidelines and I will also keep tracking my nutrition. I am getting really close to the end so it’s not the time to start wavering. Wish me luck and stay tuned…
