Day 41 is in the books and it completes the last workout for week 6. I’m glad for this week to be over because in all honesty it was a hard week. Adding the extra 20 minutes per day on top of the more elaborate and more difficult moves proved to be a tough week. The days of the shorter workouts are over and this is now my reality for the next 3 weeks in the Insanity Challenge.
Day 41 Max Interval Plyo
This was only my second go around with Max Interval Plyo and it was just as hard as the first time. I do feel as if I’m getting stronger and I know my endurance has improved in just the last week alone. Imagine 3 more weeks of this craziness. So far I’d say this is just behind Max Interval Circuit in difficulty. It’s five minutes shorter and only has 2 circuits but the end has a set of Power moves that prove to be tough as hell. This is a leg crushing workout hence the “Plyo” in the title. And man do I feel it in my legs during the entire routine. I powered through this workout and did my best but I spent my fair share of time with my hands on my knees.
Day 41 Max Interval Plyo Nutrition
I completed Day 41 on Mother’s Day so it was a little more difficult to nail the nutrition down to my goals. For breakfast I had egg whites with toast and a slice of turkey bacon. Before we headed off to church I had a glass of Shakeology which I never miss. Knowing it was Mother’s Day and we would take my Mother and Wife out for lunch I knew I had to try my best with the situation I was handed. The “Mother’s” decided they wanted to go to Sonny’s for lunch. I order the smoked turkey with 2 sides of green beans and corn bread. I wasn’t going to eat the corn bread but changed my mind. The calories and macro-nutrients for this meal alone weren’t to bad, it was the sodium that was shot to hell. Over 5,000 mg of sodium in that meal alone, holy crap! Anyways, for dinner I made some egg whites and had a protein shake to try to salvage what was left of day 41 and it’s nutrition. I finished the day with 2027 calories and my macro-nutrients at 42-33-25. My fat content was the highest it’s been in the entire Insanity Challenge thus far. Stay Tuned.
