Insanity Workout Cardio Power & Resistance (Day 8 of 60)

My first day in my second week of the Insanity workout and I’m feeling it. I’m typing this with the sweat dripping off me. This was my second time doing the cardio power & resistance workout and it’s still new to me. The 8 squats/pushups caught me off guard again, but I did what I could. I’ll be ready next time Shuan! I felt I pushed pretty hard through the entire workout. Man I tell you what though, those globe jumps super tough! I can tell my heart is starting to adapt better to these workouts. Meaning I’m able to push myself a lot harder and my heart rate is able to stay in the zone, where before I was peaking out. I was pleased that I increased my avg. and peak heart rate as well as calories burned compared to my last run through. Tomorrow’s workout is Pure Cardio, Get Fit or Get Out!

Cardio Power & Resistance Stats:

Max Heart Rate – 172
Average Heart Rate –148
Calories Burned – 753

Total Insanity Calories Burned – 4789

Insanity Workout Cardio Recovery (Day 4 of 60)

Today was the recovery day in my Insanity workout This workout could be compared to P90X Yoga X. But the Insanity workout is only 33 minutes compared to the 90 minutes of yoga x. It was nice to have a day that I was not racing around amd having trouble to keep up with. Make no mistake, this is not an easy workout, I had to break many times during squat and lung holds, where Shaun has you hold a squat for more than 1 minute and thats after you’ve done more than 30 squats already…Insane!!! Even with no jumping or running in place my heart rate peaked at 157 and I burned almost 400 calories. Tomorrows workout is Pure cardio and I heard its 40 minutes of Insane cardio with no breaks OMG!

Cardio Recovery Stats:

Max Heart Rate – 157
Average Heart Rate – 120
Calories Burned – 398

Total Insanity Calories Burned – 2547

Insanity Workout Fit Test (Day 1 of 60)

So today I began my Insanity workout Journey. Let me say for the record that Insanity is not just a cleavor name. It actually means something, this workout is Insane! The Fit Test is day 1 and it’s only takes 25 minutes to complete assuming you can make it through without stopping. I woke at 7am and immediatly took my Performance formula tablets then about 7:25 I ate 1/2 a banana. This was to make sure that I had enough energy to complete the fit test. Not working out in the last 30 days really caught up to me today. Even with the pre-workout carbs I still crashed. So I had to stop for awhile and then jumped back in to finish, I was determined to finish this.

Here are my stats for Fit Test Day 1

Switch Kicks – 87
Power Jacks – 37
Power Knees – 71
Power Jumps – 20
Globe Jumps – 7
Suicide Jumps – 13
Push-up Jacks – 15
Low Plank Obliques – 30

Max Heart Rate – 177
Average Heart Rate – 128
Calories Burned – 569

Plyo Cardio Circuit is tomorrow… wish me luck!

I have ordered it and it’s on its’s way. I will be posting daily about the workouts. Another thing I’m going to do is I will be taking my picture everyday to see the progress, by the end of the 60 days I will load the pictures and play them back in a movie format to watch my transformation over the 60 days in a short video. This program is going to rival the Great P90X! I will see first hand. The difference is Insanity will be a cardio workout routine whereas P90X has a lot of resistance training. I am looking forward to the challenge of Insanity. Time to get some extra Recovery Formula, I’m gonna need it!

My Quest For A 6-Pack via Insanity

I completed my last round of P90X on May 10th 2009.  I finished with what I consider good results.  I wish I had stuck the diet a little better, if I had my results would have increased.  If you have seen my P90X video you will notice that I mainly leaned out and did not bulk up, which was my intension.

So what’s next?  After completeing P90X I decided to start the newest Beachbody Extreme workout sereis called Insanity.  So I took what I thought would be a small 2 -3 week break becasue Insanity was to be released June 12 “ish”.  Well I was thrown a little bit of a curveball and Insanity has yet to be released as of June 27th 2009.  Insanity is now supposed to be released the begining of July.  Hopefully July 3rd 2009!

When I finished my last round of P90X I had gotten my body fat %ed down to 12% and my weight down to 179.  Both of which have increased as I have not worked out since finishing day 90.  Being that Insanity is going to be the toughest workout EVER put on DVD!  I probably should be getting ready.  So starting Monday June 29th 2009 I will be doing 5 days a week of Cardio from P90X, P90X+ and One on One.  Hopefully it will be the crash course I need to get ready for Insanity.

Ok, back to my “Quest for a 6-pack”.  So the illusive 6 pack is my goal this time through.  From what I have researched, in order to get your six pack to show you will need to drop your body fat %ed below 9%.  So my goal will be to hit 8 or 9 % in the 60 days of Insanity.  I will be taking my photo daily to track my progress.  After my 60 days are complete I will post my Insanity video and hopefully a 6 pack will appear.  If not, I will keep going.  Doing Insanity is not by itself going to get me a six pack, I will have to diet, and diet well.  No flob ups and no cheat days!  Thats my goal!

Once Insanity is available and I am ready to begin I will post all my begining stats as well as my before photos.  I will need your support to do this, so please feel free to offer up words of encouragement when I begin.

To My Success,

What To Do After P90X

You’ve busted your butt these past 90 days to get the body you’ve always wanted.  Don’t Stop Now!  Don’t fall into an easy trap of letting your gains slip away.  You work is NOT over.  Now, you do not need to perform a extreme workout sereis the rest of your life, but you should continue some sort of fitness regimen.  Below I will show you 2 workouts designed fo the P90X Grad!

What I have done is P90X in multiple rounds.  My first time through P90X I did the “Lean version” so my second go through I did the Classic with a little modifications.  I added some of the P90X+ workouts to my regular scedule.   I had great success with P90X and love the workouts.  I am currently waiting ont he release of the newest Extreme workout from Beachbody Called INSANITY. (Releasing in July)

Another way to continue is to do so with P90X+. P90X+ was created by the same fitness instructor of P90X, Tony Horton. P90X+ is not for beginners and you should have completed at least on round of P90X before going to P90X+.

Whats P90X+?

Tony Horton takes muscle confusion to the next level. Break through plateaus with more cardio, more body chiseling, and ab ripping moves. Variety is the key.

P90X+ Comes with 5 New workouts

Kenpo Cardio Plus
-This concentrated cardiovascular routine is inspired by the American Kenpo self defense disipline. Get ready for a fast paced all out session that will improve your stamina, ability and agility. Experiance new moves like “The Gladiator” for more fun than should be good for you.

Total Body Plus
-Every body part into the pool! Nothing is spared as Tony takes your entire body through sculpting, strengthing and just plain shredding sets. Each muscle group will takes turns recuperating while you blast another until you’ve got nothing left but quivering muscles.

Interval X Plus
-An extraordinary effective roller coaster of fat burning cardio moves takes each move through low/medium/high intensity. Plusyou’ll strengthen and sculpt your lower body for more power and performance.

Abs/Core Plus
-This unique routine sculps your core to condition your entire midsection while delivering washboard abs. You’ll switch it up with hanging, plank, standing and floor work.

Upper Plus
-You won’t just max out one or two muscle groups in this intense workout- your whole upper body is coming along for the ride: arms, back, chect, shoulders, delts, biceps, triceps, you name it! No boredom or repitition here, just a full throttle battle for upper body supremacy!

These workouts are mapped out for you. And you will combine them with the P90X workouts to make what’s called a hybrid workout. 3 Versions are included as with P90X, Classic, Lean and doubles.

Think you can handle P90X+….BRING IT!
