Evan Valiere is a professional surfer in the beautiful state of Hawaii. Like many if us he has a goal set out, and his is to be one of the top surfers in the world. He knows he will need to train to be able to take on the waves and not just training but training the right way. Asylum gives Evan one of the most dynamic workout approaches available today. He has to stay in shape because he never knows when the best ways of the year will come, today, tomorrow or next week and as a professional surfer he has to be ready for it.
Insanity: The Asylum created by Shaun T. is a great way for athletes to either up their game or stay at a professional level. Shaun T is your coach and will coach you through the Asylum. Evan credits Asylum to being beneficial for his training with Shaun T as his coach as he doesn’t have the coach or facilities near by on the island. So he’s able to just pop in the DVD and get a great workout in.
As a professional surfer there are certain things he needs which include: a broad range of motion, quickness, flexibility and strong through out. You’ll hear Shaun T say “You gotta go down to go up” and that happens a lot in surfing. Evan says that the concept of “the training doesn’t start until you’re tired” can be life or death for him. He goes on to say that once you get to that breaking point that’s where you gotta push harder and that’s where you will extend your own ability as a person and as an athlete.
