Cardio Power And Resistance Review | Insanity Workout Review

Cardio Power and ResistanceCardio Power and Resistance is one of the harder of the Insanity workouts for me. The warm-up is very similar to the previous Cardio workout warm-up we just did. These Insanity warmups are the best in the business and if you don’t already have a heart rate monitor, I recommend you getting one. You should be hitting 85% of your MHR (max heart rate) in the warm-up. One of the things I do like is there really isn’t that many moves once you get in the workout, but trust me they are intense moves and it does seem to go by fast and you will burn a lot of calories. Insanity Workout Cardio Power & Resistance (Day 8 of 60)

My first day in my second week of the Insanity workout and I’m feeling it. I’m typing this with the sweat dripping off me. This was my second time doing the cardio power & resistance workout and it’s still new to me. The 8 squats/pushups caught me off guard again, but I did what I could. I’ll be ready next time Shuan! I felt I pushed pretty hard through the entire workout. Man I tell you what though, those globe jumps super tough! I can tell my heart is starting to adapt better to these workouts. Meaning I’m able to push myself a lot harder and my heart rate is able to stay in the zone, where before I was peaking out. I was pleased that I increased my avg. and peak heart rate as well as calories burned compared to my last run through. Tomorrow’s workout is Pure Cardio, Get Fit or Get Out!

Cardio Power & Resistance Stats:

Max Heart Rate – 172
Average Heart Rate –148
Calories Burned – 753

Total Insanity Calories Burned – 4789

Insanity Workout Cardio Power & Resistance (Day 3 of 60)

If you have seen the promo video for the Insanity workout then you may remember the nararator saying the comment “…working out in a puddle of your own sweat”. I can personally testify that this is not just a marketing ploy. Today’s workout is called Cardio Power & Resistance, simply meaning, be prepared to jump and hit the floor a lot. You will spend more time on the floor in this workout than the previous two. Many of the moves were familiar to me from doing variations of them in P90X. I am sore from head to toe and this is just day 3! Excuse me while I go clean the sweat off my floor.

Here are my stats for Cardio Power & Resistance:

Max Heart Rate – 170
Average Heart Rate – 145
Calories Burned – 734

Total Insanity Calories Burned – 2149
