It has probably been about a year since I dedicated myself to a single program. I usually will workout 3-5 days per week with a Team Beachbody workout by just picking a random set of workouts from different trainers. I have been contemplating for about 2 months on which program I wanted to dedicate 100% to and finally decided on Insanity. Insanity is my nemesis workout. I have started it before and can never seem to get past the first week of month 2 for one reason or another. One reason that I have a hard time with Insanity is that I struggle to lose weight with it. I know what you’re thinking, how the heck could you not lose weight with a program like Insanity. First off, it did improve my cardio by leaps and bounds. Honestly nutrition during my previous rounds for lack of a better word was “$hit”. I can probably also contribute not pushing up the intensity hard enough. Over the past year I have really nailed down all of those factors and it’s just a matter of committing 100% of the time instead of my usual 70%. That’s where this round comes in.
Insanity Challenge Day 1 Stats & Pics:
100% Dedicated and Committed
Today I started my personal Insanity Challenge. This round I will be tracking my nutrition 7 days per week and doing my best on the nutrition side. I will be shooting for something in between a 50-30-20 and 40-40-20 Free advice at about 1800 calories per day. If you are following the Insanity Elite nutrition guide you’ll be eating at a 40-40-20 ratio. As far as the workouts I plan to push harder than I have ever before. As Shaun T says “The work doesn’t begin until you are tired…” On top of dedicating myself 100 % I have an Insanity Challenge Group I’m running where a small group of individual’s have joined me on this venture. We are supporting and motivating each other every day. We are all going after the coveted Insanity T- Shirt!
Day 1 Fit Test
So today was Day 1 and if you are familiar with Insanity it begins with the Fit Test. The Insanity Fit Test is a series of 8 moves that you’ll do for 1 minute each. While keeping track of how many you do during that minute. Not really a fan of this workout mainly because I always get nauseated after this routine. Trying to push those numbers up get your heart rate up quickly. Being I have been working out regularly for the past few month’s I wasn’t as intimidated by the Fit Test as I have been in the past. So I went for it today and beat every personal Fit Test numbers in every category that I have ever done. BAM! How about that for day 1. Now my numbers may not be that great in some of your’s eyes but for me starting this round on day 1 better than any fit test is exciting to say the least.

Day 1 Fit Test Nutrition
Getting the proper amount of sleep with any workout is important, but especially with Insanity. However last night my mind would not shut down. Everything Insanity was on my mind. Nutrition, workouts, and my Insanity Challenge group. I went to bed thinking about what to eat out of the Insanity Elite Nutrition Guide for breakfast. Long story short I woke up and went with the Proatmeal breakfast (nutrition facts below) and man was it good. I am a creature of habit and I could make this one a daily habit. As I said before my nutrition goals are to be somewhere between 50-30-20 and 40-40-20 (protein-carbs-fats). I am not following the Elite Nutrition Guide to a “T” but I am using some of the meals from it daily. Below is my Day 1 Nutrition.
Insanity Challenge Goals
My Goals for this round is to drop both my weight and my body fat percentage. Dropping the body fat %ed will ultimately drop the weight. So I don’t necessarily have a weight goal but I’d like to get into the 170’s. As far as my body fat, I’d like to get it to at least 10% and I’d be amazed if I can get it below 10%. Other than that tracking my nutrition everyday and pushing up the intensity on each and every workout are the other goals I have to meet for myself.
