Day 4 is officially in the books! Today was the first repeat workout of the Insanity Max 30 Challenge. I did my first Tabata Power workout on day 2. Me and my challengers are all very sore from what the first 3 days have brought to us. And today we get to tackle the workout that was the main culprit for most of our soreness.
Day 4 Tabata Power
So today was the first time I repeated a workout and I got to experience the whole ” MAX OUT” concept. Day 2 was the first time I did the Tabata Power routine with a max out time of 10:47. So naturally today’s goal was to beat that number. There was just one problem…soreness! I can’t begin to tell you how sore I am but if you are going through the Insanity Max Challenge you already know. I was proud of myself for topping my Max Out time today but I could only do about half of the triceps portion of the workout. My triceps just couldn’t handle any more work today…they were completely maxed out. Other than that section I went strong through the rest of the workout. I’m still mostly following the modifier, and don’t think that following the modifier won’t get you results. I’m extremely sore from these workouts and my heart rate and calorie burn have been comparable to when I was doing the P90X3 Challenge (not following the modifier).
The cool thing is no matter how sore I was feeling or how tired I was I was going to break my Max Out number today. And that’s how Insanity Max is supposed to work. You are competing with yourself. Too many time do we quit to early, I’m especially guilty of this. This whole MAX OUT Concept is going to blow people’s minds with the results it can make in only 30 minutes a day, 5 days a week at only 2 months…if you compete with yourself and WIN.
Day 4 Tabata Power Max Out Time: 11:52
Day 4 Tabata Power Calories Burned: 415
Day 4 Tabata Power Nutrition
It’s only day 4 of Insanity Max 30 and I’m sure you can see a pattern with my nutrition. I like to keep things simple and easy both for planning and preparing. I’m a creature of habit and I’m able to eat the same things over and over for a long time before I need to switch them up. Today I switched up my last snack meal and instead of a fruit bowl I went with an easy Shakeology recipe (posted below). The Insanity Max 30 Nutrition guide has me at about 4 servings of veggies per day and I just haven’t been even close to that so far. I’m hopeful as I move on through the program I’ll improve my nutrition and add in more veggies daily. But for now I’m just taking it one day at a time.
Breakfast: 2 egg omelette with goat cheese, 2 slices of toast with strawberry preserves
Dinner: Spinach Meatballs, 1/2 avocado, small bowl of mixed fruit
