New Hybrid Workout Combining P90X Insanity & RevAbs | Max Hybrid Workout

New HybridAfter taking some time off from my workouts to enjoy the Holidays I am getting back to the grind starting Monday January 4th. I have done P90X in many variations including the Lean and classic. I have also done the first 30 days of the Insanity workout. Next I did the P90X Insanity Hybrd workout. During my hybrid workout I added the Revabs “Fire Up Your Abs” to my hybrid. I really enjoyed the Hybrid workout and if you are stuck between workouts or find yourself getting bored with your current setup I highly suggest the P90X Insanity hybrid. There are many varitaions of the hybrid and you can view mine here.

So what to do now?

I have decided to a new combination hybrid workout. I’m calling it the “MAX Hybrid Workout”. Combining P90X, Insanity and RevAbs in a different way than before. Starting Monday I will start Insanity in a 5 day per week schedule and I will do this for 30 days. The next 30 days will consist of P90X and Insanity (My original Hybrid). And the last 30 days will consist of month 2 P90X workouts and month 2 Insanity combined together as a MAX Hybrid Workout.

So how does the schedule look?

Insanity Combined With P90X Workout Update

I wanted to give a current update on my workout. In week six I stayed home all week tending to my daughters. They were both very sick with fevers. My oldest daughter just about missed the whole week of school. I was still able to get most of my workouts in and was proud of myself. By the time the weekend hit both of them were feeling better, but now I was getting sick. It is hard enough to workout being sick, but intense workouts while being sick did not work for me. It took a week and and a half to start to feel good enough to workout again. [Read more...]

P90X Combined With Insanity | Week 6

Begin Week 2 of Phase 2 of the P90X Insanity Hybrid Workout.

P90X Insanity Hybrid Workout

Day 36 Monday – P90X Chest, Shoulders & Triceps, this is a good workout each time I do it I’m really sore for the next few days, the good kind of sore though.

Workout Time: 51:55
In Target Zone: 27:30
Avg Heart Rate: 118
Peak Heart Rate: 153
Calories Burned: 590

Day 37 Tuesday – Insanity Plyo Cardio Circuit, yesterday and today I had to do my workouts at lunch time. I really prefer to do them first thing in the morning and have the rest of the day for myself. I still did them but it felt harder to do later in the day. Tomorrow I will be back on schedule and ready to rock the biceps.

Workout Time: 48:34
In Target Zone: 45:48
Avg Heart Rate: 146
Peak Heart Rate: 173
Calories Burned: 838

Day 38 Wednesday – P90X Back & Biceps, I love, love, love this workout. As I have said in my previous post I have small biceps so this workout is crucial for me. The last time I did this workout I was sore for 3 days. I went even harder today only using my 15 pound dumbbells on one move, static arm curls. The rest was all 20 pounders, I’m hopeful to upgrade to 25 pounds for phase 3.

Workout Time: 52:58
In Target Zone: 29:53
Avg Heart Rate: 119
Peak Heart Rate: 149
Calories Burned: 613

Day 39 Thursday – Insanity Cardio Power & Resistance, I have been pretty busy the last couple of days as a Beachbody Coach, helping me coaches with their businesses, which I thoroughly enjoy.  It feels good completing any of the Insanity workouts.  Everytime I get to the end I hear my self say “I did It!”  This morning was a little different because I had my two girls ther cheering me on, “go daddy!”  They even gave me high fives when I finished, what better feeling is there.  Of course the high five is as far as they would go, they kept telling me ” ewwww, your wet daddy, gross…” so no hugs from being soaked in sweat.  I have not done any measurements or even stepped on a scale since starting so I think I may post some results this coming week.  I have noticed my obligues are starting to cut inward and almost all my short and pants are getting to be large on me, also I’m back to wearing a smaller shirt size.  So I know things are changing…

Workout Time: 39:44
In Target Zone: 37:26
Avg Heart Rate: 145
Peak Heart Rate: 172
Calories Burned: 677

Day 40 Friday – OFF, I had a house full of sick little girls today. So I had to pass on my workout to take them to the doctor.

Day 41 Saturday – OFF

Day 42 Sunday – OFF, normally scheduled for my RevAbs workout, but today me and my family took a trip to Orlando to visit my brother and his wife. We havn’t seen them since their wedding back in june. It was nice to get away and see them. Tomorrow I will be getting back on track.

P90X Combined With Insanity | Week 5

Begin Phase 2 of my P90X Insanity Hybrid Workout.

P90X Insasnity Hybrid WorkoutDay 29 Monday – P90X Chest, Shoulders & Triceps, today began phase 2 of my workout. It’s hard to believe it’s already been 4+ weeks. As I said from day one, no more B.S. and I have stuck to that motto going hard in every workout and even completeing each workout to it’s entirety including the bonus rounds. Phase 2 brings me 2 new P90X workouts, I will keep the Insanity workouts at Plyo Cardio Circuit and Power & Resistance. Also as I have said in my previous post I have added RevAbs as a 6th day. Back to todays workout, chest , shoulders and triceps is just what it says and what’s great is no repeat moves. This workout is harder than I remember it but I still went at it hard. I did have to pass on two moves, one arm push ups and plyo push ups. In my opinion both of these should be at the begining of the workout, but for some reason they are near the end and by the time I get to them my arms are dead. I did try each of the two but collapsed on the way down and could not get back up. Other than that I did the rest. As Tony would say “BRING IT!”

Workout Time: 53:29
In Target Zone: 29:08
Avg Heart Rate: 119
Peak Heart Rate: 147
Calories Burned: 619

Day 30 Tuesday – Insanity Plyo Cardio Circuit, back to the intensity of INSANITY! This is a hard workout that I seem to enjoy. I always find myself gasping for oxygen. 30 days of 90, so I’m 1/3 the way to the finish line.

Workout Time: 48:02
In Target Zone: 43:50
Avg Heart Rate: 143
Peak Heart Rate: 170
Calories Burned: 798

Day 31 Wednesday – P90X Back & Biceps, monday was taking everything and pushing it away, today was taking everything and pulkling it towrds you. I like this workout but I know I’m going to be really sore tomorrow, mainly in the biceps. When I finished my last round of P90X my biceps measured about 12 3/4″ so I am really trying to get some more size in my biceps. At my last measurement they were just a smidge over 13″ so I’m making progress yet slowly.

Workout Time: 55:00
In Target Zone: 23:20
Avg Heart Rate: 114
Peak Heart Rate: 157
Calories Burned: 579

Day 32 Thursday – Insanity Cardio Power & Resistance, I hadn’t done this workout in over a month mainly becuase of the “power” portion of it. I got up this morning dreading even doing it at all, but I decided to go for it. My entire body is sore from this weeks workout and knowing I was going to be doing a lot of jumping and squats was scary. I went for it and actually enjoyed the workout. It was easier than I remember, although it wasn’t THAT easy. What I liked was the circuits in this workout were only 2 minutes, you can do anything for 2 minutes right. The last set in each circuit is extended to a little over 3 minutes with some added moves like triceps dips. The second set was great until I stumbled onto the globe jumps, AHHH! Globe jumps are killer, if you are doing Insanity you know what I’m talking about. I’m not sure I will leave this workout on thursday with my P90X legs and back working coming tomorrow, it my be to much on my legs. I will see how I feel tomorrow.

Workout Time: 45:30
In Target Zone: 33:48
Avg Heart Rate: 135
Peak Heart Rate: 169
Calories Burned: 680

Day 33 Friday – OFF, having another softball tournament Saturday, so I opted out of today’s P90X Legs & Back.

Day 34 Saturday – Softball Tournament

Day 35 Sunday – RevAbs Fire Up Your Abs, after taking friday’s workout off then playing in softball tournament yesterday I was ready to get back to my workouts. Overall I had another good week, only having two cheat meals in total for the week, although I’d prefer zero, but rewards are nice to get sometimes. I have started to notice a peak in my energy this week. What I mean by that is thoughout the day I have a lot more energy than before. This is probably due to the workouts as well as my mutivitamins and protein. As I’m typing this I am enjoying my strawberry protein smoothie and loving it.

Workout Time: 38:54
In Target Zone: 13:20
Avg Heart Rate: 113
Peak Heart Rate: 154
Calories Burned: 401

Keep Pushing Play,

P90X Combined With Insanity | Recovery Week 1

Begin week 4 of the P90X Insanity Hybrid Workout, Recovery Week.P90X

Day 22 Monday – Insanity Core Cardio & Balance, day 1 of my recovery week is over. I am happy to be able to get back to my workouts after the week I had last week. Core cardio & balance is one of the easier Insanity workouts as it is the recovery workout. However do not go into this workout thinking it will be a peice of cake, because it’s not. At only 37 minutes it’s still a good workout focusing on core and balance (duh!). If for some reason you want to get a good hip flexor workout, I found it. Near the end of this workout Shaun takes you into a hip flexor routine that will BLAST those muscles, OMG! It felt like my hip flexors were going to explode (in a good way). Tomorrow will be my first Revabs workout.

Workout Time: 40:13
In Target Zone: 33:12
Avg Heart Rate: 135
Peak Heart Rate: 162
Calories Burned: 601

Day 23 Tuesday – RevAbs Fire Up Your Abs, today I decided to do the RevAbs workout. During the recovery week there is a lot of focus on the core, so I felt Revabs would fit in this week rather well. I was right, this is a 40 minute ab crusher. Be sure and check out my RevAbs Review.
