P90X Earn’s High Mark’s on ABC’s Good Morning America

In an article titled Exercise Infomercials: We Try Before You Buy, ABC correspondent Becky Worley writes about how some products look good on television, but don’t necessarily live up to expectations in real life.

In this five-product review, P90X measures up well—finishing second with a solid “B+”. In the video segment, Becky calls the program “Great Exercise Science.”

New Hybrid Workout Combining P90X Insanity & RevAbs | Max Hybrid Workout

New HybridAfter taking some time off from my workouts to enjoy the Holidays I am getting back to the grind starting Monday January 4th. I have done P90X in many variations including the Lean and classic. I have also done the first 30 days of the Insanity workout. Next I did the P90X Insanity Hybrd workout. During my hybrid workout I added the Revabs “Fire Up Your Abs” to my hybrid. I really enjoyed the Hybrid workout and if you are stuck between workouts or find yourself getting bored with your current setup I highly suggest the P90X Insanity hybrid. There are many varitaions of the hybrid and you can view mine here.

So what to do now?

I have decided to a new combination hybrid workout. I’m calling it the “MAX Hybrid Workout”. Combining P90X, Insanity and RevAbs in a different way than before. Starting Monday I will start Insanity in a 5 day per week schedule and I will do this for 30 days. The next 30 days will consist of P90X and Insanity (My original Hybrid). And the last 30 days will consist of month 2 P90X workouts and month 2 Insanity combined together as a MAX Hybrid Workout.

So how does the schedule look?

Brett Hoebel, RevAbs Drops by Good Morning America

Watch Brett Hoebel and Tanya Rivero REV it up on the popular ABC News Show – Good Morning America. Tanya pays some dues and gets her sweat on doing some lunges, intervals, and crunches with El Capitan and RevAbs.

I have only done one of the Revabs workouts and I have to say the guy knows his stuff. Currently I’m working out with Insanity, P90X and recently added the Revabs workout called Fire Up Your Abs.

P90X Combined With Insanity | Week 6

Begin Week 2 of Phase 2 of the P90X Insanity Hybrid Workout.

P90X Insanity Hybrid Workout

Day 36 Monday – P90X Chest, Shoulders & Triceps, this is a good workout each time I do it I’m really sore for the next few days, the good kind of sore though.

Workout Time: 51:55
In Target Zone: 27:30
Avg Heart Rate: 118
Peak Heart Rate: 153
Calories Burned: 590

Day 37 Tuesday – Insanity Plyo Cardio Circuit, yesterday and today I had to do my workouts at lunch time. I really prefer to do them first thing in the morning and have the rest of the day for myself. I still did them but it felt harder to do later in the day. Tomorrow I will be back on schedule and ready to rock the biceps.

Workout Time: 48:34
In Target Zone: 45:48
Avg Heart Rate: 146
Peak Heart Rate: 173
Calories Burned: 838

Day 38 Wednesday – P90X Back & Biceps, I love, love, love this workout. As I have said in my previous post I have small biceps so this workout is crucial for me. The last time I did this workout I was sore for 3 days. I went even harder today only using my 15 pound dumbbells on one move, static arm curls. The rest was all 20 pounders, I’m hopeful to upgrade to 25 pounds for phase 3.

Workout Time: 52:58
In Target Zone: 29:53
Avg Heart Rate: 119
Peak Heart Rate: 149
Calories Burned: 613

Day 39 Thursday – Insanity Cardio Power & Resistance, I have been pretty busy the last couple of days as a Beachbody Coach, helping me coaches with their businesses, which I thoroughly enjoy.  It feels good completing any of the Insanity workouts.  Everytime I get to the end I hear my self say “I did It!”  This morning was a little different because I had my two girls ther cheering me on, “go daddy!”  They even gave me high fives when I finished, what better feeling is there.  Of course the high five is as far as they would go, they kept telling me ” ewwww, your wet daddy, gross…” so no hugs from being soaked in sweat.  I have not done any measurements or even stepped on a scale since starting so I think I may post some results this coming week.  I have noticed my obligues are starting to cut inward and almost all my short and pants are getting to be large on me, also I’m back to wearing a smaller shirt size.  So I know things are changing…

Workout Time: 39:44
In Target Zone: 37:26
Avg Heart Rate: 145
Peak Heart Rate: 172
Calories Burned: 677

Day 40 Friday – OFF, I had a house full of sick little girls today. So I had to pass on my workout to take them to the doctor.

Day 41 Saturday – OFF

Day 42 Sunday – OFF, normally scheduled for my RevAbs workout, but today me and my family took a trip to Orlando to visit my brother and his wife. We havn’t seen them since their wedding back in june. It was nice to get away and see them. Tomorrow I will be getting back on track.

My Review:
I have had the hardest time with this workout. It maybe because of the whole idea of working multiple muscle groups at the same time. If you are doing the Classic version of P90X you will not see this workout until the recovery week. After my own time of haveing it rough with this workout I can now do it in it’s entirety and get a really good burn from it. I burn about 500 calories with this workout. Each and every move in this workout will engage your abs, glutes, chest and back. Tony’s tip for this workout is “engage”. You need to engage each of the formentioned muscle groups during each move. You will only need light dumbbells for this workout as most of the moves use your own body weight as resistance. I keep a steady heart rate of about 122 and peak at about 164. I now find myself enjoying this workout and look forward to it in each recovery week.

NO MORE B.S. | P90X Combined with Insanity Workout

P90X Insanity Hybrid WorkoutI always seem to start off good but then for some reason or another a waiver from my workouts. Probably a lack of self control. I have started over again with my P90X Insanity Hybrid workout. And this time NO BS! Even when I did the workouts I was cutting them short, NO MORE. I will be doing everyworkout in it’s entirety including the bonus rounds. If I have to I will be pressing pause, something I hate to do. I am going to commit myself to this like I did with my first 30 days of Insanity. I decided to change my hybrid workout to a 5 day a week workout. Giving me 2 days off will not only give me the rest I need, but will also give me flexibility if I have to miss a workout I will be able to get it in on one of my off days.

Day 1 Monday – P90X Chest and Back, Good day to start out with, like I mentioned before, I usually cut this one short and only do the first round. Mind you I go at it pretty hard in the first round knowing I wasn’t doing the second. This was not the case today, I did the entire workout and I’m proud of myself. I also have started to track my calories. I was surprised I was WAY to low on my calories for today. At only 1500 for the day I was way under my mark of 2000 plus. I will obviously be adding calories.

    Workout Time: 55:53
    In Target Zone: 25:00
    Avg Heart Rate: 115
    Peak Heart Rate: 153
    Calories Burned: 600
    Calories In: 1500

Day 2 Tuesday – Insanity Plyometric Cardio Circuit, today was the first Insanity workout in about two weeks and I really felt it. I felt pretty burned out the whole way through it. I think this is attributed by the low calorie intake from the day before. What I do like to do during Insanity is add 1 scoop of the Recovery Formula to my water. This really keeps me from crashing. My goal for today will be to make sure I get more calories. Tonight I have a softball game so I hope I won’t be to sore. I up my calories to 1,970. Still not quite as high as I am aiming for but pretty close.

    Workout Time: 44:36
    In Target Zone: 42:12
    Avg Heart Rate: 142
    Peak Heart Rate: 170
    Calories Burned: 732
    Calories In: 1970
