First of all, if you completed the Insanity program, you should feel a huge sense of accomplishment as this is no easy feat – even for those in shape. Insanity is one of Beachbody’s most challenging workouts, but also one of the most rewarding.
The next question you may be wondering is: what do I do AFTER Insanity?
Maybe you thought you could now pass your days away sitting on the sidelines. Not exactly. It’s true, you do need to keep working out in order to maintain or improve your fitness level. I am sure you don’t want all that hard work to go wasted.
Or maybe you ar ready to go onto the next fitness challenge.
First, allow yourself some time off just doing light cardio for a week or two, as you deserve it. But, don’t wait too long!
There are a few workouts you can do after Insanity that will keep you at the level you worked so hard to achieve. One option is to do Insanity all over again now that your fitness level is much better. If that sounds like torture to you, there are alternative options.
After Insanity for Women
For women, a great way to keep in optimal shape is ChaLEAN Extreme. This is an extreme fitness workout designed to increase your metabolism, keep you toned and burn calories. There are three phases – burn, push and lean, – designed to help you burn fat more effeciently. “Muscle Burns Fat”. The workouts range from 30-45 minutes so there is not a lot of time you will need to commit to. The only extra equipment you will need is a seet of dumbbells or resistance bands. Unlike P90X there are no pull-ups in Chalean Extreme.
Chalene keeps a smile on her face as she pushes you through weight resistant training and cardio exercises. Chalenes’ routines are still a great workout, but they are at a much more relaxed pace if you are trying to slow down after Insanity.

After Insanity for Men
I am sure you are familiar with Tony Horton’s P90X or P90X2. His popular program is filled with routines that challenge you in a different way. P90X touches on every muscle in your body, with each of the 12 workouts designed to focus on different muscle groups. Look to spend a little more than an hour per day with P90X. You will need a couple extra items as well. You will need a place to do pull ups (or pull up bar) and a set of dumbbells or resistance bands.
P90X has a lot more weight training to round off the lean body you have achieved from Insanity. The pace is not as intense, yet it provides a balanced workout and a great supplement to the Insanity program.

After Insanity for the Insane
For those of you who are not interested in throttling back, but instead want to forge full speed ahead, try Insanity Asylum. Shaun T’s sequel provides an even higher level of intensity (as if there could be!) for all the hard core fitness diehards. Asylum workouts range from 25-60 minutes and only reguire a place to do pull ups. The extra equipment like the agility ladder and the jump rope come with the program.
This program is designed using similar training drills as the ones elite athletes engage in. These sports training workouts focus on speed, agility, strength, and core. The workouts are a step up, but quite different from Insanity.

Pay it forward after Insanity
Having completed Insanity I’m sure you now feel a real since of accomplishment. And maybe you feel you would like to pay it forward and help others attempting the Insanity challenge or any routine for that matter. I would suggest looking into the Beachbody Coach program and do just that. As a Beachbody Coach you can continue your own fitness journey all the while helping others achieve their own goals and maybe earn some extra money, at the very least you can benefit from the nice 25% savings.

Final Thoughts for after Insanity
Now obviously there are more options than those listed above, the idea is not to put in so much hard work with Insanity and stop completely. What is important is that you listen to your body and choose a fitness program that works for you. Find a workout that challenges you, but don’t overtrain and risk injury or burnout. Let your body rest in between intense programs, but remain on target for staying in the best shape of your life.
For some, life after Insanity is all uphill and it just becomes a matter of how bad you want to conquer that hill.
